Hi Paul
I like the weathering effect that you creat on the Chassis.
What does the Turps help do?
Does it give the paint under the wash a texture or help in the weathering clours to
run.
Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil.

Well the turps wash allows the thinned paint to run freely over the surface, you can do it a couple of ways wash the area first with an old soft brush and the then dab on splashes of muddy colours and allow it to do its own thing, then if you are not quite happy and want to go bit further, when this is totally dry you can add patches of unthinned colour say black for greese and grime, and just paint a little thinner over this in downward strokes, its like the zimm really just get an old bit of scrap metal and have a go its dead easy really.
Hope this helps.
Cheers Paul

Hi Paul

Very interested to see how the build is progressing. The pictures from Aug 1st are pretty much where I'm at, but with not quite as much damage. It would be nice to see some more progression.
I have sent you a PM about detail parts when the model comes to the finishing stages, if you can help me them that would be great.

Workshop challenge . . . the thing is I have been very busy with actual work so got way behind on posting pics etc, the good news is the model is all done bar the shouting and ready for collection any time soon and I will be posting pics etc real soon.

Cheers for now Paul

Hi fellas.

Well its been a while but something maybe not a Phoenix has risen from the ashes / wreckage of what we started with.
100_1252.JPG
There have been quite a few problems with this model, as some of you may remember from the distant past :) but she has cleaned up quite nicely in the end.
100_1255.JPG
The original headlamps were hollowed out on the lathe and a brass tube fitted to the bottom and the lights now work using halogen side light bulbs, the same thing was done with the model side lights and they have been fitted with grain of wheat bulbs.
100_1251.JPG
Various bits and pices of stowage have been added including the smashed wheels that she originally turned up with, just had to see how she would look with a crew, these have not seen light of day for a while Paul.

Hope you like her.
Cheers Paul

Hi Paul,

Superb resurrection job on the halftrack and I like the colours, I might go for that on my next halftrack. Figures are doing well, they will be worth a bob or two now as you cant get that many SS Oak leaf reversible winter uniforms any more.

regards, Paul.
