Adrian.
Makes me wonder why in the world would he be walking and not riding that machine??

Well a T-34 ought to make a lot of people happy.

Recoil

Hi all

We can not offer the recoil system as an upgrade on any of the existing models. There are a number of reasons for this. The existing models are not designed for a recoiling barrel either mechanically or electrically. Any attempt to upgrade would require dissassembly of your models and returning of parts for re-engineering. The management of this type of operation would not be viable for us.
Additionally we gave an undertaking to the authorities, when selling the blank firer, that the barrel would be rigidly fixed to the tank. There was a percieved risk that any recoil linkage could fail, resulting in the blank firer discharging the barrel at high speed. We tested this on a Panther, which shot the barrel 40feet up the yard.
In conclusion, no recoil with the existing range of tanks from Armortek. No blank firer with the new recoil system on the new tanks, starting with the T34. We are aware that we can not please everyone here, but hope that on an issue like this, where safety is important, we have reached a good compromise

Hi Mark,

Yes, good compromise....and you don't have to please everyone, just a few of us

Great model!!!!
One of my dreams! (Famo is the first)
It's not a good period for me in these few months, hope that all will be good soon and if it will, I will buy one of them! (Hope that will remain one :P )

Maybe he knows how to make this thing moving, but doesn't know how to ride on it----exactly opposite to what the Odd Ball did in "Kelly's Heros".

Wow Armortek does it again. The T34 is an excellent choice and by the looks of the CAD model renderings will be a fantastic model. Very nice lines. I'm interested to see the recoil kit as well. Keep up the great work Gill and Mark! All the best for a successful launch.

Follow this link to see an animation of the new recoil in action. (please note you may have problems viewing on Windows Explorer due to their security settings)

Mark,

I think the recoil system is AWESOME! Its excellet work and I can't say how please I am that you have incorporated this feature in the T-34.

But (I know, there is always "but" - I sorry) do you think or have you considered any help you can lend to existing Armortek owners that would like to have such a system in there tank(s).

Now, I don't have a set expectation I want to press other than your general consideration. I can't even begin as to the scope of such an effort; I don't see Armortek offering retro-fit kits for all the specific models. But, (again with the "but") you are the origin and I was just thinking you would be the best place to start such an inquiry.

Do you see any of the components you have designed for the T-34 recoil and flash as possibly being "unaversally" adaptable?

Thanks for listening!

Hello Jim

Thank you for your positive comments on the recoil system.
We do not have any plans in the immediate future, to offer anything for the older kits. Most of the reason for this is detailed in our earlier posting dated 7th March above.

Recoil for future models

Hi Mark
In a bid to help please more people,is it possible for future models
to offer the barrels fitted into a suitable bearing surface, but still
enabling them to be fixed solid for the Blank Firer and regulations.
But still allowing other members to have a head start in making up
their own recoil systems, especially for people without machinery
equipment.
This would avoid dissapointment for example, those wanting the
T34/85 but would have liked a Blank Firer and in the opposite,
Say another batch of Tigers were brought out :)
and the big Gun was already sliding nicelly in its mount, but able
to be fixed for the blank firer and the reg's,members wanting
Recoil would have a head start.
This is assuming you still can not offer both the Armortek Recoil
and Blank Fire options for the same Model due to the regs, even
though the barrel could be fixed still, and the Armortek Recoil and
Blank Firer would not be compatible any way.
Just thinking out loud on the Forum
Cheers

Hi all

We are very strictly limited in what we can do here. When designing a piece of equipment that uses any form of explosive (ie the blank firer) We are duty bound to make it as difficult as possable for anyone to subsequently modify. When we were given approval to sell the blank firer we were instructed to ensure that the barrel was firmly and rigidly fixed.

Recently it has appeared that a recoil and flash would be more popuular than the blank firer. The new tanks are designed for this system, and in order to comply with the above, we have to make it as difficult as possible for a blank firer to be fitted to them.

I am sorry we can not offer more help.
