Vince's day job is animatronics for the film industry so I suspect he built them himself.

Vince Abbott did the figures some time ago but on a more or less one off basis. My JP commander is one of his. He's been throwing his drink over his shoulder for years now and he's still going strong. Spearhead made some but I think they went the way of Spearhead unfortunately. There was another chap who was going to make them, called himself Slimes or Slymes on the UKTC Forum (currently down :-( ) but again I don't think they came to anything. Just a left and right motion is easy to do, hollow out the dollies chest and mount a servo with an extension tube up through the neck. To be honest it's the servo boards that are the pain to get hold of but a colleage, Howard is working on PICAXE powered boards.

I'm not sure Sym would like to be referred to as Slimes

He's still around and has his own website at:

http://www.churchillcreations.co.uk/pilots.htm

I've been in email with him recently and hopefully his forum will be up and running soon. What it is with fora at the moment :?: :!: :?:

The forum posting regarding the figures is at:

I have had 2 of Sym's original figures for a couple of years now, and they work fine. They have 4 servos in each, so you get both arms and 2 axis movement on the head. Controlling them is a Wizard 3 board, which is a large board. By the time you have added a plug in interface it takes up a lot of room. It's also hard to get hold of now as well :!:

Hope this helps

Hi guys,

Here you can find a versatile piece of electronics to controll your animatronics and other complex moving parts. It really works easy and great.

Short vid of my 2 figures sitting in my Tiger turret roof at

Haven't got round to getting all the arms moving yet. Trying to co-ordinate all the movements is time consuming.
