Hi Volker,
I spent most of this evening going through my halftrack pictures. There must be well over 1100 of them by now. Several pictures show he presence of some kind of latch on the front side. It looks like a small T shaped piece of bar, with the horizontal part of the T bolted onto the top shield. The vertical part shows some kind of hole. Unfortunately I have not found any detailed pictures. Sorry

Volker,
Here's what I had. Interesting the front latch is not the same on the right side of the vehicle. I think it's just missing from the rt side of this vehicle after looking at my previous photo.
and since we can't get enough of this lever
Happy half tracking!
Tim

Good photo Volker - I see what you mean about PTO. So what is that bloody lever on the passengers side for? What about opening and closing the engine louvers (on front!!!??) Or my third and <perhaps final> guess, the parking brake lever (did someone already mention that one?)
One more question to Volker. Brilliant job on the tread plate making die plates! What type of mill cutter did you use to mill the plates? You must use really thin brass in order to emboss the pattern in it? Great idea.

Thank you all , we can t have enough pictures
Tim i will make these latches on all 4 "corners" ,it make sense for me.
Bob the lever on the passenger side is for the radiator cover the other ones here:
information from TM_9_707
I used copper for the plates , i tried several measures , the best at the end was 0,6mm . You have to glow out the copper ,
without it is broken.
The plates are very thin but after the embossing it is strong enough.
You can also fill some glue or resin on the back into the diamonds.
I fitted and bended the plates in correct shape bevor embossing.
The cutter is in german Stichel , i don t know the translation :
they are with different angles .

Volker,
You and David are definately setting the bar higher and higher on the M3 half track builds. Its great to see some super detailing going on! You're latches, hinges and handles are amazing! Good idea to model in plastic first - are you remaking the doors and armor panels? Were these not included in the kit?
Keep up the great work!
