Hello David

You are right in saying snooze and looze.I learnt that a long time ago when i started to collect them.300+ and lost counting. I have regreted some decitions not to get some of them and bingo Rocking horse poo. As I sell Action figures aswell I tend to get more Tank crewmen than infantry. See my web site for stock levels.

I have to say that I first went on the hunt for my DAK crew figures around August of 2008 - started with a thread here in the forum. Kent Wiik recommended I get Hoarst then, and I did - he was about $36.00 then....

Then I started looking for DAK/Tropical uniform bits and slowly amassed about 5 uniforms.

But, I also did a bit of research on the uniforms worn in the Afrika by the German panzer troops.... The did suffer shortages from time to time and could end up wearing what they could get. Also, keep in mind that the dyes used were not very stable, sometimes in the extreme climate and fading was a given - sometimes even to the point of the garments being virtually white/tan.

PS - If Dragon produces another DAK figure.....JUMP ON IT!

Have you had a look at the Soldier Story 1/6 scale DAK action figure? A lot more expensive than the Dragon models but the workmanship is excellent judging by the photos.

I have not got to see one "in-the-flesh" but you are SO RIGHT by what I see in the PICs!

I have asked "SANTA" to bring me one (or a dozen!)....we will see what is under the tree???

And, if I don't get at least one.......

Santa's not getting HER present either!

I have only seen the 1/6th version in pictures (grey version). I have seen a real Krupp Protze up close. But, I think Toawan's model looks very. well done and with my decision to go DAK, it seemed to be a good fit and good supply truck for my Panzer III.

I am a little apprehensive as I have never owned or heard of Toawan, but I am making the step....and hope it is a good choice. I read the thread on SAG and looked at all the other info i could find on the web, and I just started picturing one pulling up beside a Panzer III and "gass'in her up"... Then I would say "no"....Then I would start thinking about it again....

....I think you know the rest of that story!

My Horst road in today town . But will have to wait until Christmas to open him ... The one below I'm looking at getting him as a tank rider for my DAK PZIII .. does any one have him and what do they think ???? Dale

Hi Dale,

I have him sitting in the back of my DAK Kubelwagen...
He looks like a good fighter. I wouldn't want to meet him in the back streets of Tobruk...if you were the Allied...

I also have young Bernhardt Beck who is driving.

My Horst Lerner arrived a couple of days ago and I am very pleased with the action figure.

My PZ III should arrive within the week, BTW...Thx Gill...

My first impression of the Toawan Krupp Protze (I have only seen an image) was that it looked plastic. I was surprised it was metal and wood. That is why I was interested if you had seen the model in the flesh.

I have one on order from Legend & Toy Hobbies in CA - I will keep you posted on it. I have to say that the PICs on the SAG forum looked pretty good to me, and close to what I remember the one in the museum looking like. I guess the only way to really know is when it arrives....

I will keep you posted on that.

You know, on the DAK figures, I really do not see why someone like DML or NewLine Miniatures does not offer a uniform set - a standard tunic, shirt and long and short trousers.... That would go fare - general WM soldiers, Luft, and panzer troops - all they would have to do is NOT put patches on them.

The articulation make it possible to pose the figure in almost any way. The shoulders even move forward and back, which affords the opportunity to reach the arm across the body. This is a huge improvement over the stiff shoulders on most figures that only allow a 30 degree reach across. I am happy to have this guy in my stable of DAK guys!

Hi Antony,

Dragon/DID action figures are great.
Soldier Story figures are considerably better, imo, base on the photos and the review from SAG.
