Pierluigi you are distracting my audience.....go on your specific forum and start to work on your Panther

Quiet mates, i'm joking.
Pierluigi, Alfredo and me are friends from old time .........altough Pierluigi has been recently taken from the dark side of the force and prefer thousand things instead to work on his tank.

Cheers

Luca

Hi Luca,
Your KT is terrific! Love to see so many detailed parts were added in .
These 2 hinge's covers, are they made by thin metal? What is the thickness? How does it lock on the turret's rear plate? :?:

Thanks!

To make these two pieces I bought an aluminum tube about 45mm in diameter, the thickness is about 1.5 mm. The tube is cut in half lengthwise and then folded carefully.
The piece is simply glued with cyanoacrylate, the fake welding filler helps to make the piece stronger.

Cheers

... ... ... ... ... ... .. We went to painting.

I state to have changed his mind and to have waived the usual livery type Ambush, this livery has always captivated me though ... ... ... .... But one thing is to see a real tank and another one is painting a model , without opening a controversy of the type "Virtual and color choices to be applied to your models'
this livery can result as good as can seem a sort of joke.

I have deliberately kept the circles bigger than they were i the real. That would attract even more attention and instead of making them with a brush (as probably they was in real) they are made with airbrush because they are not so evident.

Now before to proceed with weathering, I need your opinion about this mimetic, altough weathering will improve the overall tank , which certainly make it more realistic, however this will be the mimetic and the end result is not too far away.

Expect many comments to consider whether to change livery and go on the usual and experienced Ambush

Luca,
Great looking Tiger, Love the detail and the colour. The only problems i can see are that the green colour was applied as a base coat to the very last Tigers built and therfore should be on the lower hull and wheels as well, Also Your Tiger is not built as a final production example.
Sorry for sounding a bit negative, please dont take it as a critisism of your build which i think is brilliant
Regards
Steve

Hello Steve is always a pleasure to discuss about tanks and you prove to be an expert and your suggestion is very appreciated. I also know that this camouflage was applied towards the end of the war and one of the few existing photos shows her on a latest KT : new tracks, new guns, etc.. Some attribute this to the tank Pz Abt. 510 others at 511, somewhere is also written that the 510 never received Tiger 2, but this is not true. Considering all this confusion, the fact that we was at the end of the war and that we were not there, I suppose that this mimetic may have been also applied to a tank of "old" generation.

The intention is not to produce a false history, but to get out of the box and avoid the usual conventional "Ambush" camouflage :) :) :) :)

Luca, You are correct in what you say and i think it is a great idea of yours to get away from the 3 colour patterns.
Although there is no photographic evedence of a Tiger in these colours it is still a possibility :D .
Its a realy nice looking Tiger
Well Done
Steve

Hi Luca & Steve,

I've been looking into this green base coat for sometime and yes, the manufacturers had instruction late in the war to apply a green base coat I'm still waiting for evidence of this. The Panther factory in all the colour photo's clearly show's the normal Dunkelgelb basecoat even after the war was over. Also see this photo below of a Tiger II with "Octopus" camo. The wheel looks Dunkelgelb to me. What do you think :?:

BTW Luca your Tiger II looks superb 8) . Well done :!: :!:

Thanks Antony

Interesting shots of the late Tigers, Have you noticed the late pattern tracks and the turret with pairs of track hangers for the early pattern tracks.

Cool color photo Tony, never seen that before. Looks like someone photoshopped the swastika out however. I like the different camo that Luca is attempting. Well done details and painting.
