Front hatch and front mudguard Questions

I speak some German and my second half (girlfriend) is also good in translating German.
So if it isn't too much work (translating a encycopedia ) we will take a look at it....

About the mudguard
The problem today is if you look at a tank, what is still original...
This is what it looks like on KT 213 Today.
I know it was retored after the war,if it was done as the original...

Hi Paul and Sven,

the pages in the little book you showing here are hand written in German.
No joke - this writing is in German lettering and not in todays lathin lettering. I am use to read the old German printed lettering but have difficulties in read hand written writings. You need an older German person to read and translate. The only person to read this hand writing I know for example is my mother and she is only 84 years old. Not an easy task.

Hi Roland,

I know, my Mother is 85 and when I asked her if she would translate it, she said no! It would be easier just to returning the paper work back to Germany and send it to the bundeswehr archive, there are a lot of official papers of troop movements relating to the 16th Infanterie-Division, 16th Panzergrenaider and the 116th Panzer-Division and so on. They could do a lot more than I can, I just don't like the idea of it being locked away where no one can see it.

Hi guys,

I think I can help you with this. The Germans used round conical plugs to fasten some of their parts to the hull or turret. What you see on the photos from the TII in La Gleize is the real thing, see also this sketch;





On the front mudguards there should be three bolt heads holding that extension part that is removed when in rail transport mode.

Sven, it was nice meeting you in La Gleize and it would´ve been nice to have a meal and a chat but I was on a tight time schedule.
