Not sure personally, but there is possibly a significant risk it may not generate the orders in the 'current climate'. Apart from armour my main modelling and academic interest is actually Soviet era steam, I have been researching that for 40 years, through many political changes. So I'm already down that rabbit hole.....

I've been told that the T-34 took a long time to sell, hence the reluctance to do another Russian tank.

I suppose if people were asking for them, they would have made the list ? Good to see a lot of interest here though 8)

They are obvious opponents for Centurion and Chieftain, plus maybe Pershing ?

I wouldn't be put off buying one just because Putin is the aggressor in a current war. As mentioned, all the perennial favourites came from the most evil regime the world has ever seen and it doesn't seem to put people off buying them.

personally I think the popularity of a tank is not based on the Country who was driving it.
It is based on the Legends around this tank and in some part the technology and in some parts just the size of the tank.
We all know the legends of the Tiger, the legend how the Inventor of the T34 drove this tank on the streets to Moskau.

Would I buy a russian tank right now? Probably not, because the mentiond T54/T55 participate right now in a real war.
For me, this is to close.

Maybe if there is no war?
Probably still now, because I think russian tanks are good, but because of their simplicity and I like the technical details of the current tanks.

So I think what was in the survey are all good models, I just personally like the Luchs, because simply I never saw it as a model tank.

Awesome, has the version been decided? Early or later versions? There were many for this tank.

Too many options, early to late pz IV with Panther turret with range finder and infrared device 1250.
Maybe having more option packs?

The last time the Panzer IV was offered, there was an option to purchase just the lower hull, so you could make your own Berge / Sturm / FlaK / StuG / Jagd / Nashorn / Hummel. No-one purchased just the hull :(

I'm hoping for the F1 version with the option to swap the barrel to make an F2/G.

I've always wondered why the PZ IV was never re-released.

Panzer IV -good choice ! It’s been a gaping hole for Panzerwaffe collectors for many years …..

I doubt I’ll get one (doesn’t fit my collecting profile), but I’ve voted for the F1 with the short 75mm L24. I’m no expert on the position of pistol ports etc., but I’d like to see more Early War conversions going back to the Ausf . A used in Poland and France. Early War is a sadly neglected period in my opinion.

All the best,

Chris

Just in case you do not subscribe to the newsletter or it ends up in your spam folder, below is a copy of what we sent out in our newsletter yesterday .....

To all of you who completed our 2025 KIT SURVEY - many thanks!

We received several hundred responses and whilst we have tried to respond to all the comments, given the volume, if you have not heard from us and still have questions then drop us an email.

As a reminder - these are the kits that we put on the survey list:
• Panzer 2 Luchs
• Panzer IV
• Sd. Kfz. 222
• Cromwell
• CVRT
• Matilda II
• WW1 MK IV
• M1A1 Abrams
• M24 Chaffee

The stand out winner - and our candidate for our next kit (after the Challenger 2) is the Panzer IV.

We last made this kit in 2011, so it's about time the model is updated with our latest design and production philosophy.
The remaining question now is "Which variant of the Panzer IV" ?

As many of you will know, the Panzer IV was the most-produced German tank of World War II and served as the backbone of German armoured formations from 1939 until 1945, evolving significantly in armament, armour, and role during the conflict.

With so many possible versions (variants), this is where you will get another say in what we make. We have a short list of 4 variants - the Ausf. F1, Ausf F2, Ausf. G and the Ausf. H, which together accounted for over 70% of total Panzer IV production during WWII.

Click the button below to find out more about the differences between the variants and to vote for your choice.
