My guess is the cable goes from the junction box in Stephen's pictures to the elbow shaped connector on the rear of the searchlight, outboard of the hand grip? Kevin

I think you might be right Kevin now we can see the link to the build photos but I can't find an original photo for angles or length of any wire . may be I will do a nice loose loop.

Ah, Phil, your question was ambiguous and Sod's Law dictates that..... well, you know the rest.

The cable runs from the junction box to the connector on the spotlight, Number 11 on the diagramme below.



It was an armoured cable with just enough play to allow the spotlight to elevate with the Comd's MG. A "loose loop" would be too long. The cable can just be seen beside CPL Paul Bowes, 4RTR, in this mugshot.

Now that's a nice diagram indeed, look at all those internal parts ! Looks like the connector was at 90° and must have looped out and back in to the connector block....thanks Stephen and thank you Kevin, as this is right in your face it has to be correct.

Phil, I'll make it easy for you, the connector on the junction box is the front one indicated by the arrow below.

Dave’s stuff looking great Phil, I like it. This model is truly coming to life.
To my untrained eye that butt/stock looks a bit big sat atop the sight, compared to the photo of the 1/1 version. Does it sit there ok?

Dave is a master for sure, that stock, I think it looks slightly to big and how can I get the gaffa tape to look right but I like the idea of keeping it close to hand because if you had to demount your steed there's no way you could fire that gpmg without it? I've seen infantry fire these when they are absolutely knackered on a tripod and not paying attention the weapon almost flips over on auto!

Really nice to see a set in paint and fully detailed Phil, fast turn around as well

I've fixed the mount on my display model as could not come up with any other way to hold it elevated. Maybe someone will figure a clever actuator arm from a servo or something to replicate the ram.

Is that the 4D stock Phil or Dragon. The 4D ammo box is certainly overscale but I figured may do as something stuffed at the bottom of a basket so left it with the Donor weapon.

That's a Dragon stock Dave complete with sink hole, I'm not going to worry about "locking off" the mount as it sits nice as is.
You have done a first class job as always with that kit mate!
Do you have smoke grenades and British pattern torches and binos by any chance?

Sorry, only what I might have in my figure stash, will be US angle torches and smokes and I use them on most of my own custom builds.
