I mistreated my Chieftain to feel like I was climbing a tank.
But my Chieftain took my abuse lightly.

I'm beginning think they should be paying you to test all their new future projects too.

Certainly shows the power of the Chieftain.

My Chieftain is still running on the grass.



The long-awaited motor for turret arrived in Korea at last.
It took me just a month to arrive, expecting to receive this by next Tuesday.
So now I'm burning with passion that I can complete my Chieftain.

I stopped by the post office early this morning and picked up the turret motor myself.
Today is a day off at the post office, so I received it by next Monday if I wait for the delivery of the mailman, so I will complete my Chieftain today and tomorrow.
First, by solving the problem that you told me, I made a battery tray again, extending the length of the turret motor to flywood to prevent interference or collision with the battery, placing spacers between the battery and the battery so that the batteries don't get close to each other, and rearranging the option packs to the center of the tank. Now, I have finished my work, watched a Saturday evening movie with my wife and went out to eat a nice meal.

I have installed all the option packs and completed all the action tests by today.
The recoil was very difficult, but it's working very well now.
I am going to clean the workplace, clean the tank.

I finished the test run after the final assembly just a moment ago. I'm going to continue testing until the end of this week, and if there's nothing wrong, I'm going to wash the track around the weekend and then put it in the house.

I am working on a new task for my chieftain.

I am first trying to improve the recoil system and the elevator operation of the main gun.
The reason why I try this is because I experienced a 25kg servo of internal gear broken in charge of the recoil during various tests on my completed chieftain and also experienced a moving error that seemed to result from the collapse of the center of gravity and slow speed during the rising of Inoperative.
This is my personal situation where I can't handle my chieftain more carefully or dearly.
And.....
I removed the spacer from the lower part of the turret, which was temporarily installed for verification during work, and it works without interference.
However, spacers are still installed to adjust the height of the connection surface when connecting the turret to the turret.

I am doing some application for the personalization I felt when I was using my Chieftain these days.

One of them is the Recoil System.

If I used the recoil system and stopped the tank to shoot the gun and used the recoil function, the prototype alone wouldn't be a problem.

But I'm personalizing my chieftain's recoil by making some changes to the original supply of Armortek to enable smoother and more visible horizontal distance repetitive motion.

Most of the parts I get to implement this are procured through cheap AlliExpress, so I'm currently looking at the possibilities with CAD and stress analysis programs while waiting for delivery.

The force applied to the Gun tube is not just a vertical load but a bending moment applied by Main Gun, which is more than 1 meter long.
Furthermore, if I run the field I want and implement the ability to fire the main gun, the vibration causes the dynamic load of more than several times the main GUN weight, which causes excessive force on the recoil servo and keeps the servo to maintain the stop point, which generates heat. In my case, I changed the servo twice.

Regardless of whether the tank is running or standing or turning the turret, the moment force acting on the main gun is being converted to a vertical static load. I think about how it is easy to move forward and backward in a forward direction and apply it.

I expect that this way alone will result in a significant load-reduction for the servo. The process and results will be shared in photographs so that anyone can intuitively understand my intentions without further explanation for this forum.
And I can always return to the original supply of Armortek if I want.

I will install a 16mm extension rod at the back of the main gun and press it a little bit to hold the slide block horizontal bushing.
I am going to use a linear rail to prevent the turning of the gun during the recoil motion.

This is going to be a very interesting modification which I look forward to follow.

Chieftan had also what I think is called barrel stabilization. I wonder if anybody is going to attempt to implement it?
