Thanks Phil, While on the bandwaggon for the fuel tanks I also developed the main fuel cells to round off the set.

Although not posting much I have been making good progress. I now need to turn the 4 hull plugs as they are no longer included in the kit.
The m6 caps that hold one end of the torsion bar will stay as they are, these are to important to cover up. 8)

Coming along nicely. 👍🏻

Here’s a photo of how the protection plates were bolted on that you might find interesting.

I have a plan John, that photo shows rather nicely the angle cut in the inner edge to clear the hull weld fillet protrusions 8)

When you think about that they would have to provide clearance for the welds but a detail that’s easy to miss.

i’ve tried to make the plates look a bit like they are supposed to.

That's pretty darn close John, they have also squeezed some lock tabs in there to! We plan to hang the spare track across the front plate to. 8)

Got to sort out the track hangers for the front plate myself. Got the hangers for the spare track on the turret to do but that’s going to be a little while until I get round to that.

It's very difficult to keep it a bit human, a bit random, not to uniform. Obviously use the same tool or a few very similar just as the guys applying it would have. I'm using a wooden spatula, a single piece tool which is taking forever but doesn't give that "lines on the black board look."

I agree wholeheartedly! And the result is absolutely stunning. I have never seen any better looking Zimmerit coating on a model. :D

Cheers Christoffer, I'm never happy with the zim as it's an organic material applied to a square geometric plate, I've just finished the rear plate ( photos tomorrow ) and that's been a bugger with all those fittings and fixings to work around!

What are these plugs Phil?

I guess then that they are the shock absorber attachment points.

I believe so as they are handed and so correspond to the swing arm positions which are different left and right. I'm pretty sure you have done yours already?
