Very nice even without its turret!
Sounds amazing even without the Benidini gadget switched on with all that noise from the tracklinks.

Very inspiring films, thanks for showing us.
I am a bit behind...

Kent,
I don't have the Benedini unit yet. I kinda like the squeeking and clanking. Although after hearing Anthony's Panther in videos I gotta get the sound and smoke!

Tim, didn't really doubt the idlers, although they are a little narrower than the stock idlers. I was concenrned they might shed the track easier. But I turned the heck out of mine Panther in dirt, grass, gravel, and ceder twigs - and it never shed the track once, and the tracks are really loose! Always good to see a design work out in practice!

Found new fun making video's and posting them. You tube is awesome! Hopefully in a day or so will have the turret on for full on action!

Thanks for looking!
Bob

Adrian,
I had trouble with both VTX40 speed controllers. I replaced the one's supplied with the Panther with the ones from my Sherman and it worked fine. It took some time to diagnose because I didn't think the speed controllers would be at fault, and esp since there are two of them. The left track would not respond to any radio inputs, and the right track would start running fast on its own even with radio on. I replaced the electronic switch unit DMR203, and this had no effect. As a last resort Mark suggested swapping the speed controllers and voila!

Since changing the speed controllers it does not move until radio stick inputs are given and it drives perfectly.

Sometimes technology can be a pain!

>I had trouble with both VTX40 speed controllers.

Jeez, that must have been so frustrating

If things don't work correctly, you don't expect parts like that to be the cause

Good job you had the Sherman ones to locate the problem

Some new videos of the Panther with the turret on. Hope you enjoy. Spent a lot of time editing the video - fun but maddening sometimes!

A lot of video resolution seems to get lost when uploading to You-tube. Also the clips are pretty short to limit uploading time. I will hopefully have some more exciting ones later. Something <harmlessly> blowing up or getting smashed would be great! I'm just getting the video part down.

Gotta love having a "Normandy like" back yard to play in!

Great videos Bob - the camo really works well in the grass :D

You''ll need to replace those fences with 1/6th Bocage hedges if you want a authentic Normandy proving ground

I love the squeaking tracks as well - really adds another dimension.

Nice videos Bob!
Thanks for sharing.

Have you changed the number colours from red outlined in white to the correct DR black outlined in white?
Or do I need new glasses...

Cheers

Thanks guys for the comments. Glad the links appear to be working. Sometimes the vids load sometimes they don't? Hmm??

Kent, the turret number are still red, with white outline. Not sure what you mean by not being correct? Some units had red numbering?

Hope will have some more vids soon,
Happy building!
Bob
