I would still like for us to have a go at that engine block, a complete L60 ready to go on a little wooden pallet ( also printed) would look so cool displayed next to the Chieftain.

Hi Phil, that's a great idea. Just note that you would never have seen an engine in that state in the field. The whole concept of the L60 was that it came as a power pack with rads and ancillaries attached, so that the complete assembly could be exchanged as quickly as possible by the REME Forward Repair Team. The only time a bare block could be seen would be in 23 Base Workshops where packs were reconditioned or in the supply chain in UK.

What a brilliant idea. I have the plans of engines I built some years ago. I can model those. That should keep me out of trouble for a while.

I've printed these parts at 90% as it's tight in our engine bay with everything else that I have added, that gives me another 2mm of space.

Really nice Phil. I had to do a double take with some of those photos as I wasn't sure if you were showing the model or the real thing.

Big thumbs up.

Thanks Vince there's still a long way to go, it's still to tight in there as this is the first time I've fitted all the sub units but will be worth the effort to get it just so. Thanks for all your patience and skill cading those difficult parts that I keep asking for, it's not over yet as there's bound to be more little bits and pieces I need. 8)

Thanks Ivano, I've been getting through the annoying jobs like moving the filler cap, made the concertina exhaust extensions by adjusting the stl file to suit the gap, useful that. 8)

The radiator hinge mounts need to be made a little closer to the casting so that the handles clear the upper deck, that was the last thing to adjust after everything else was lined up first.
