One of Steve's master pieces. I must get on with a few hours of welds this beautiful Sunday morning but it is the day of our Lord 8) We are also waiting on the exhaust shield stand offs, maybe they should be included in the kit?

One of Steve's master pieces.
Have to agree with you.

For the exhaust shield standoffs, I used the same standoffs that are used for the side skirts. I could have made my own but I'm too lazy  so bought some extra side skirt standoffs.

Loving it Phil! Your breakfast time update sets me up for the day! Vince and I get withdrawal symptoms if we go too long without your updates!

More milliput to the "turned turtle" hull, a mile stone during a build.

Hi Phill, beautiful work, congratulations for the fantastic details. I wanted to emphasize to everyone, if the photos are correct, that the lower tanks do not seem to be correct. the "cusps" must not be facing in the same direction. It is not a criticism but only a detail that escapes many to avoid gross errors. Strange that it still escapes the producer !! ??
I hope you understand what I wrote. Ivano

Great work as always. 👍🏻

Will you be adding the scalloped plate for the other surface?

Any details on the "scalloped plate" that you can share would be great. Are both sides about the same thickness or ?
Do both sides have lots of rivet heads? Details that you don't really see when everything s done but would be nice to have. Help Please.

Later Tim

Hi Tim and John, I had no plans to add the missing/top scallop piece, maybe this has been a missed opportunity for the after market boys, it would really need to be made of steel and securely fixed and fairly strong as the track could whip up and catch it.
The thickness is a tricky one as the bend and the bend radius in the existing would be in the wrong place to accept the other. In the early kits this fillet was a part in its own right and we used to rivet it in place.
Fancy making a few sets? 8)
I have seen an internet photo of the domed rivets on both pieces so I'm sticking with that, maybe the vehicle had been back to the workshop for repair after hitting a mine!

The hull side plate had flat head rivets and the other plate had domed rivet heads. Did find a drawing of the plates online once but can’t find it now.

The drawings didn’t quite match up to the kit So a bit of “adjusting” was needed so propably a bit inaccurate but not really going to be seen.

Gents, Tiger1 friends!

Many moons ago Tim made in my eyes the finest Atmortek Late Tiger1 ever made.
His saga can be seen here and have tons of information still of interest for todays Tiger1 builders.
This forum at its best and what its all about :D

Found the drawing but it’s for an early Tiger.which as I’m doing an early Tiger is OK for mine. Not sure what the differences are on a late Tiger. 🤔

Ivano, those lower fuel tank positions are interesting indeed, I may have assumed they would have just been "handed" thanks for the observation, please post more photos of that gorgeous engine bay I love the quality!

Hello Phil, first I want to say that you are doing a great job on the build and will look second to none when wrapped. Second on the gas tanks, yes they are a supposed to go in reverse directions. When I made my resin sets 10 years ago the resources I used led me to believe that they were a mirror image and I found out a few years later that this was an error.

Since then I have been gathering newer resources on the subject and with that knowledge I spent the last few months developing a replacement set. Ironically I was going to announce the new sets in a couple weeks once I have confirmation from the printer but since there is pressure to clear the air I decided to post them early.

The old resin ones are going to be replaced with the new generation set that will be 3D printed. Not to hijack the thread but below are a few sample CAD pics I taken of the parts

Once they are ready for catalog release I will make a thread about these and other new releases on the craftsman section.
