Made and fitted one side of the exhaust system. Now for the other side. The next job is to fit 3 air tanks, two across ways and one longitudinally next to the gearbox.

Theres just enough room between the motors and the front suspension "A" beam, although I have removed some material from the beams top edge just in case. The real exhaust pipe would sit just inside the chassis rail but there's two dirty great electric motors in the way.

The exhaust riser is a push fit into the header collector pipe, this enables the dummy engine to be lifted away if needed

All done, now to those air tanks and then the dummy gearbox to disguise the esc and cover those cables. So much for an "out the box build" :?

Hi Florian, 8mm copper oil pipe, you can buy it with a plastic sheath, which you then cut away ( this is the best way to buy the copper tube for this kind of work as the metal finish is perfect under the plastic ) then use corresponding 8mm elbows and tee's and couplers. Use cyno to bond as soldering is not necessary. Cut with a dedicated pipe cutter as this forms a nice chamfered end. Season to taste and serve on a bed of spinach.

Has anyone thought about using hardwood planks for the rear load bed floor? I have been looking for suitable material but not found a supplier as yet.

There's similar on ebay but they are all to narrow, you would have to eat a lot of lollies to cover that load area Vince! :) I would guess around 15 to 20 mm wide would be to scale, with a thickness of around 3mm ?

Sapele, as used in the Bailey Bridge, would probably be OK.

You can buy 3mm thick sheets on ebay, but I'm sure it could be found cheaper from wood dealers.

I like the idea of ply sheet Adrian as it's stable, I can cut using my angle grinder with a wafer thin disc (lots of smoke though) , Vince I have just downloaded those Tetra info labels from ebay and printed the file at around 100 mm on A4 and they look just fine, it's a bit cheeky but inexpensive! Now I need to find similar for the Famo engine rocker cover labels.

Phil
Really enjoying your Famo build. Are your engine detail parts machined or 3D printed? Did you get a printer? The details are fantastic.
Thanks,
Bob
