Finally! Most of the pieces
have arrived.Today or tomorrow I hope that the refrigerant tanks arrive.
The decals have also been ordered. Next week, where possible, I will start creating resin clones of the pieces and then it's done.

The reason I gave you the gearbox body and the side covers separately was that it would be easier to print (not having to deal with print supports). It's no problem for me to give you the side covers already attached to the body. You choose. Is the size of the smoke box OK? I have to redo it as it has a defect. Also is the height of the smoke box bracket OK?

Another thing I have just realised! Is there space in the model to fit Ivano's engine and that gearbox? Would it be better to wait until you receive Ivano's engine before I do a lot of work on that gearbox?

There's loads of room Vince the engine is up under the tee piece, the fly wheel couplings may show but I won't really know until it does arrive, those parts can be added later without any hassle, the smoke box exhaust inlet pipes can be made separately and just bonded where they fit best once the engine is in but drafts can be made in the mean time. I think the smoke box needs to be less rectangular but I will need to measure and give you those dimensions this afternoon. I see what you mean with the side pieces and the supports so maybe leave as is.
I'm not to sure how to fit the smoke box brackets, I have printed them out though.
The smoke box did have sloping sides and the top didn't print properly, so I think your right there is a problem with the file maybe.

I'm not to sure how to fit the smoke box brackets, I have printed them out though.
I sent you two images (when I sent the stl files) and one of them was without the smoke box so that you could see exactly where the brackets go. I can resend it if you want.

Got it, they are very thin but once bonded in position will be fine.

Phil
Showing off progress so far of the detailing of the gearbox. I am having nightmares about drawing bolt heads!! Thankfully not much more bolt heads needed (famous last words!!!). Still a lot of detailing needs to be done. Have to admit that I am being drawn into a vicious circle with the gearbox detailing.

Progress, mocking up the gearbox and the ancillary units of which there are many.

Phil I think I am nearly ready with the detailing. Only thing remaining is the coupling between the gearbox and engine. Hopefully should be finished tomorrow. I suggest you don't finalise those flexible pipes and disk brakes.
Or maybe it's better not doing the coupling and leave it to you as you will know better what's required when you get the engine.

Sounds good Vince, the pipes and cables are free to repositioned as I have not bonded anything yet, I was hoping that you might like to cad the discs for me? I would be so grateful and it seems a shame not to carry on with such quality work

So I will leave the coupling to you?
I can give the disk brakes a go but still need to figure out how to do the piston housing. So it may take a bit. What diameter of disk brake were you thinking of doing?
