Hi Peter,
The BIG HEAVY 1/6 JT in 2021, Just like the real BIG HEAVY JT in 1945, once in trouble, are hardly movable. But of course the crew will never abandon it.
Just curiosity, were 22/ February photos shot on the same day with 03/ January photos, and the way before 09/ February in snow field ?
Regards, Lerh Chang

The pics I post are shot same day as posting. Only for bigger event pics (e. g. Hausen) they might be a day or two old.

Peter

Hi Peter,
Always nice to see added details to make it unique. The four 2-T crane mounts or "Pilzen" around the top-middle of the casemate, to me is such an example.
May I ask how do you add it to the panels? Glue it on or lock it with fastener(s), or both?
Stay safe.
Regards,
Lerh Chang

I use fasteners as much / often as possible. That makes alterations much easier. Gluing is a lot harder to undo.
Cheers
Peter

I prefer fasteners to glue too, but haven't sorted out how to lock them on those sloped panels.
Do you drill and then tap a screw hole from inside of the panel through the Pilze, or any other way ?

Hi Chang,
Yes, drill a hole and fix it with a screw and nut.

Hi Peter,
Just found in your photo dated 15 Feb, what is that in red circle? Why was the recoil spring tied with it instead of the position as per the building instruction manual?

Lerh Chang

Re: JT in Germany
Hi Chang,
The circeled part will be attached to the rear of the gun. The pic was taken while dry fitting and figuring out where to place everything. Nothing was finally fixed at that point.
Regards
Peter
