Here I added some Tamiya Black panel line accent color around the bolts and everywhere then I wiped it off. This wheel has no matte finish but I did sand down the gloss paint before application.

Brian, I am not 100% sure about this, but I believe the motion pack needs 24 volts to work. Maybe somebody more knowledgeable on this can confirm this.

Brian, sorry to be the bringer of bad news but you need 24 volts. If you’re using LiFePO4, 18ah is more than enough capacity but it must supply 24v. Can you return the battery and change it? You could of course install a second 12v battery in parallel but that would negate one of the benefits of LiFePO4, ie light weight and small size. By the way, if anyone is dubious about Lithium iron phosphate, I ran my Centurion hard for three days at TankFest without charging and I still had 24.3v at the end and probably About half the capacity remaining.

Yes Marco, I am simply a visitor the deer are the real residents here. They are in the yard everyday. And I am afraid I will need to fence an area off to grow anything in the garden or they will eat it all. I thought about you and your Tiger driving through dog poop because my yard is now covered in deer poop! I will have to do a clean up before I get my tiger running.

It was a long day; but the last coat of clear matte varnish is my favorite. I have experimented with various types but the Humbrol spray acrylic seems to be the best. I’ll let it dry and see how I like it. I am reading about pigment weathering. Very exciting stuff. The closest two wheels in the pic are just one coat of Humbrol acrylic matte varnish. I got one wheel put together and only 15 left to go then I can do a final coat of paint. I watched a really amazing video on YouTube of an incredible paint technique and it really made me anxious at how little I know about this art of painting! I’ll post the video it’s just insane.

Hello, I can’t seem to get the motors to work. I followed the directions but when I touch the throttle stick all I hear is a click come from the module. I tried helicopter mode and airplane mode. Everything is in default mode. Is there something wrong?

Brian,
Double check that your batteries are connected in series to deliver 24V. The Armortek motors are 24V and may not work with 12V. I cannot tell from your setup for certain if you are connected in Series (24V) or Parallel (12V). Check that receiver is plugged into throttle.

That is a cool paint video - some good techniques which can apply to bigger stuff as well. I like your base color after that flat (matte) coat - it looks pretty close to Tamiya TS-3 color. 1/35 models look so tiny after dealing with 1/6.

I think everything is hooked up correctly I have the receiver plugged into #3 for throttle according to Futaba manual and the batteries are connected in series the lights are on the module remote start is green. If I take the other rc inputs and plug them into throttle then the motors turn.

Brian, it's that part of the build I am not looking forward to and mostly due to the fact that I have never used any radio control systems in my life.

I had a look at my manual (latest revision) and I could not find any diagrams of operating the motors with the motion control unit alone which is your case. The diagrams all seem to incorporate the sound module. I have an earlier version of the manual but at the moment I don't have access to it as it's in the workshop. Maybe that might have a diagram with just the motion control unit only. I had a look at the Elephant diagrams which are in the download section and that has one. I am sure you can operate the tank without the sound control unit. I suspect one input from the receiver is not enough.

Your best bet, I guess, is to ask Armortek to give you a wiring diagram with the motion control unit only.

Ok, that is what I thought but the instructions say not to connect the sound and I don’t have the sound yet.
