Re: Armorteks next model
I said to Monique allready, that I prefer the SDAH116 for towing a StuG or Panzer 3/4 with my FAMO. I think someone else would like to have this model. Maybe 30 ov the 50 Famo owners.

Re: Armorteks next model
There are two interesting trailers.
Sd.Ah 115 and 116
The 115 is a simple trailer for light tanks, like hetzer Sdkfz 251 and so on. Also simple to build.
The 116 is more difficult in construkion and with the own steering in the back a challenge.
Would like to see one of them at Armortek...

Re: Armorteks next model
I've been mentioning the Sd.Ah 116 trailer to Kian at every opportunity.
I'd certainly have one for my Famo.

Does that mean "Mother" was an assault gun Stephen? now there's a great argument.Stephen White wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 11:16 am1. The Jadgtiger wasn't a tank. It was a self-propelled assault gun, a logical but stupid over-extension of the Jagdpanzer line of development.
Either way Jagdtiger is a just a pipe dream.(hey! who's going to supply a build for a Famo!) Never, never going to happen unless you build it yourself or find at least thirty willing customers.
Sadly, put it in the same box as Maus, E100, CharB,TOG.Tortoise, T28, T35. All dead ends.
I do like the idea of a "Trailers Are Us" extension to the factory, an A4 Rocket Meillerwagon might be a nice addition too.

I can't let that one go ......John Clarke wrote: ↑Thu Dec 13, 2018 1:00 pmDoes that mean "Mother" was an assault gun Stephen? now there's a great argument.
'Mother' was a tank, because it was the first to carry that title (although you could cheerfully call it a Wire Crusher, or a Battering Ram, or a Mobile Infantry Shield). It was not an SPG because it had guns mounted in sponsons (an idea borrowed from the Navy) which covered the majority of fire angles which were later, and better, covered by a turret. An SPG, of course, has an extremely limited field of fire to the front only.
(Yeah, OK, I get very precious about my WW1 tanks )
Armortek's next model is the M3 - can't wait ! As for the future, there's a KT in a year's time, and I'd guess something in between. But I'm prepared to wait and see. Great flexibility was shown in producing the Famo, but only on the back of guaranteed sales. All other releases have always been a market gamble - sometimes they're very popular, and sometimes they struggle. There are also issues of size, engineering complexity, and price point. Therefore, while I too tend to the exotic (Whippet, FT17, Vickers Medium, 38T) I know they're too specialised, and won't happen.
It's fun to guess, and gently nudge. But threads like this are very unlikely to influence Company Policy, which is all about balancing economic survival against satisfying the maximum number of customers.
Boringly ,

Re: Armorteks next model
Normally, I'll charge for an argument, but I'd do this one in my spare time. (old Python gag)
Of course everybody know's the word "Tank" was a cover story for a new invention, a practical off road "Armored fighting vehicle". So generally speaking that covers all AFV's.
Dam it, I've used an Acronym.........
I really hate acronyms, at my place of work I have listed over two hundred, Laziness and one up man ship usually the case.
Fantastic work from Armortek developing the new Grant and Lee models, sadly they've wheeled out the King Tiger again, my KT (Dam it, did it again) isn't so exclusive.
Ahhh......as with all limited editions, limited to the amount of people who want one.
Still at least we're expressing a need for a new model with a gun and not a winch!
Hopefully one with the British 120mm L11A5. will be on the Armortek books soon.

We have just got to have one of these to complement the Tiger 1's, they are just beautiful in an ugly way.....What's the chance Armortek?

I'm with Phil. Its NOT German, its NOT American, it IS British.
About time we had a BRITISH Tank, and maybe a Russian? for 2020.

I would also prefer a British tank such as a Churchill, Matilda or Valentine.

We are going to need 30 wants for a Churchill to be commercially viable guys ! What do the European armortek customers think about pushing for a Churchill?

Re: Armorteks next model
Chieftain is also British. Armortek will be aware of a potential competitor offering a Churchill although the delivery dates might be somewhat uncertain. Stephen

Re: Armorteks next model
I'd like a chieftain too Stephen but sadly I don't think there would be enough interest. Just like every other tracked vehicle of its time and many of those before it mechanically it was a bag of sh.te but looked and sounded fantastic with the best cannon in the world and in my opinion would scale very nicely!
