Thanks Stephen. I am keeping all my fingers crossed that they might work out at the end.

Starting on the rear hull details.Vince I have had to reduce the size of the sterling by 20% as it looked a bit on the big size but no big deal. 8)

Great detailing Phil. Those helmets in particular look so like the real thing.
Loving it.

Phil
Amazing details on your Chieftain - simply stunning. I really like the camo colors. Those helmets look like the real thing. You and your team of elves have worked round the clock on this project and it is fantastic.

If you'd like to have a go at resin printing (Vince) send me the Sterling files. I'd like to see how a small detail thing like that prints. Not to take anything from Phil's printing ability of course! A comparison of FDM and resin printing would be fun! One large Zip file would be ok with files in mm.

Awesome work!

Thanks Kevin, Robert I think the stirling would work even better using the resin medium but that's up to Vince. I'm struggling with the fine detail but it's coming on.
Now back to the big oily thing, those vents in the inner panniers that sit opposite the air cleaner biscuit are on my list today, I bet my positioning and ivano's are going to be different, so I'm going to build the vents separately so they can be slid back and forth and up and down, I will just tack them for now until the engine arrives from Italy. 8)

I am not surprised at all Phil. I will send the files to Bob so that if he wants he can give it a try but something tells me he might struggle also with a liquid resin printer.

Just out of curiosity, is it the main body which if giving you difficulty? If it is I can reduce the detail by inserting plugs at the front and back and just leave a silhouette, of the details as can be seen below.
Body Copy v1.jpg
I can also virtually assemble the Sterling and send you the stl of a fully assembled Sterling.

Hi vince, the stock was being a pain but I think I have that sorted now, the body is causing problems so let's try that mod that you suggest ? Or let's try the fully assembled?
It needs to be 80% of the original size to be nearer 1/6 th scale to. 8)

OK Phil. I will assemble one with the modified body. Also do you want it with the magazine or without the magazine? Also shall I leave the stock off so that you can add it later in what configuration (extended or closed) you want?

Oh well. I did not have any dimensions to use as a reference. Yesterday I found a user manual for the Sterling which says that with the butt folded the length of the body should be 48.2cm. It's good to have a scaling function in the slicer.

Maybe leave the magazine out as the weapon will be stowed, and we could try a print to include the stock but folded, again as the weapon will be stowed. 8)

Sent you one with modified body but no magazine and no stock and another one with folded stock and no magazine.

I'm printing away like crazy but leaving the printer after tea breaks does mean you sometimes come back to spaghetti!

I've been working on the engine compartment, the armour for the inner panniers has gone well along with the false floor.

Question for ivano, are you going to offer the gearbox compartment, and do you have dimensions of the engine exhausts, ie the height and the centers so I can start on the expansion box above the gearbox ?
