Absolutely Vince!
This is a first class build that we have all been happy to follow. Thank you so much for spending the effort of explaining, documenting and presenting to us. It does make the build take about twice the time...
But you surely have a lot of followers now! :D

She looks the dogs dangley bits Vince, a very nice build, now you can run it and run it and then enjoy all the maintenance which I enjoy very much indeed 8)

Yesterday I started the day playing around with the Tiger going through all the R/C functions to make sure everything still worked. Had a fright at one point where the elevation and recoil did not work but soon got that sorted. The big multi-pin plug of the turret sub-loom was not pushed in fully in the mating socket.

I then decided to tackle two issues which I had been putting off. The first one was the track tension. The left hand one was nearly good as is but the right hand one was a bit loose. So first I tried to remove a track link but it was obvious that the track would become tight. So next I resorted to adjusting the track tension mechanism but wasn't sure which way I need to turn to increase tension. So decided to open the engine hatch to see which way I need to turn the allen screw to increase the tension.

This is where I found that I couldn't open the engine hatch as it was hitting the zimmeritt of the turret. I also noticed that the two tie-downs I had fitted in front of the engine hatch had broken off. Must have broken them off during the turret turn trials.

Had to reduce the thickness of the zimmeritt to be able to open the engine hatch. After adjusting the tracks, I left a pencil mark to show me in the future which way I need to turn the screw. I copied this from Phil's Tiger 1 build.

My second issue was to do something about the bolts that hold the track tension covers. Originally I had used standard M3 bolts but these were a pain to use because of the counterbore I did. So I changed them to M3 bolts with one size smaller heads.

Finally, fixed the two broken tie-downs by gluing a piece of 1mm rod. This would give them a low profile so that they won't be broken again by the turret.

As soon as the glue sets will need to touch up the paint.

Looks awesome Vince - thanks from me for documenting and sharing your build. Now for my favorite part - the Camo paint!
best regards,
Bob

Thanks Bob.
Now for my favorite part - the Camo paint!
Not looking forward to do it. Sometimes I get sleepless nights thinking about it.

I know which camo scheme I would like to use it's just I don't know which method to use to apply it.

Last Saturday received the 22mm 5C collet I had ordered and started work on the muzzle brake. Today I finished all the work I wanted to do.
Cutting the C spanner slots

Added a slight taper at the back of the locking ring

The muzzle brake parts have increased from the original three to eight. Now to paint and assemble them.

Something like this Marco:

But I need to find a better/larger drawing if possible.

Yes that's rather small. But there are tons of paint schemes out there for small scale modellers! So you should be able to easily find a larger one of what you like!

Hi Vince
on page 67, you refer to the changes made to the upper hooks of the spare tracks, I do not understand what you did, can you explain it to me?
Thank you very much Ivano

Ivano, dai un'occhiata qui:

Se non fa senso posso provare a spiegare. Quelle parti sono parti Armortek e non Armorpax.

If it does not make sense I can try to explain. Those parts are Armortek parts and not Armorpax.

Thanks Vince,
now I understand. Armortek has exhausted all the spare parts for Tiger1, so I'll have to come up with something.
