At this rate you'll be done before summer! Looks great.
As far as cast spare links, it sounds like Paul will doing some King Tiger dummy spare links.. I'm working on mid/late Tiger 1 links.

Well i found the bug. One of the panniers were bent inwards. And i suspect wife sabotage!!!! As she cleaned my room before i went to it . No kidding it could even have been me doing it but im sure that was it and now fixed.
Kent treatment is goin suuuper but takes alot of time.
Big areas to fill with tiny dremel holes and stretches .
I have looked more into all the included small dressup parts and im stunned as they are super im sure there will be hours to make them come to life with paintjob.
More to come.

After disasembly its time for the Kent Wiik Treatment.
Here is some pics. Hope i do him pleased .
Mr. Dremel and some fat guy in high speed .
Hard work to work the whole surface but its all worth it.
Putty has been stippled and sanded.
A comparising picture, sorry my camera still sucks.

After and i think i did pretty well as this was my first treatment.
Went on to the exhaust guards.
Still gona be mr.surfacer 500 on em so there not completely done.
I have set my kids on the cleaning aluminium detail and have named them Gefreiter Linus und Unteroffizier Jesper while my self ist das Oberst. Weird thou my wife is still mein Fuhrer a self taken thing ofcourse!
So the roadwheels and lots of things beeing done as the maintenence crew is working hard for some lousy bucks.
Hope they dot strike on me.
All in all were having loads of fun together and thats all that counts.

Looking good but I think you can grind off a little bit more of the putty.
I had my own looking just like that at my first attempt doing this but after grinding off one more time it looked better - not so bumpy but more like flat surface with scars.
But a very, very good start my friend!
The cast guards on the other hand shall have a very bumpy and uneven surface - good start on them.
Looking forward to see more.

I probably fall under the rank of Feldwebel, my two boys Stabsunteroffizier, and my daughter is the Reich Fuhrer SS. Adrian.
Im using a small point edged file one of the smallest ones as Kent have ordered me to.
I then just let the file bounce in different directions in ca 1 to 1.5 cm in lenght, Thou Kents way is more refined and more precisioned as i learned on the telli today .
I try to make uneven shapes with different pressure on the file in stage 2 and somewhat crisscross a bit.
last stage is to make the pits or what i should call em take a little bigger file, still point edge one and make random little stretches and holes. Remember to go on the surface with steelwool to clean it and then with acetone or some other cleaner before you work it .
When done filing clean it with acetone again.
Then etch prime it.
Then staple putty with a brush with short hairs wiich should be rather stiff. Around 60 -70% of the surface wait for it to cure proper.
Then sand the putty down with 1200 fine waterpaper or what its called in english , as Kent said i have to do a little more sanding so i will. I think i know how much he means but you get the hang as i did.
Just look at some of the plate pics posted and you see how much, then take a clean cloth to wipe the material away with adnd check and prime with primer.
Im also etch priming all plates inside and outside before mounting it.
Might overdo it but i dont want any corroding materials in some weird place. Plates seem anodized but im not taking any chances with this fine model wich have stolen my heart
