Straight forward and all now ready to be masked off, primed further and painted tomorrow.
All dependent on the weather here obviously

Re: Panther G 2022 #15 Build
Some reasonable weather this morning so managed to get the drive sprockets finished.
I 'm going to wait a few days for the paint to harden before handling so have now moved on to checking out the tracks.
Only looks like some have a small amount of flashing to remove so that's a good thing.
A tedious task but I think I'm going to etch prime and paint the links individually before assembly.
I'm thinking grey primer and then matt black or dark grey for starters.
Not quite sure at the moment.
What would be the correct colour?

Just hit them with either black or a dirty brown colour. With weare the primer will show.
Dirty brown as that's what happens to tank tracks with use.

Re: Panther G 2022 #15 Build
Thanks Mark
OK, so need to be looking for some spray cans of a suitable brown then.
Unless I still go with black and dirty it up later.
I do have a spray gun and airbrushes but be easier in cans I think.
Will have a look to see what browns are about

Re: Panther G 2022 #15 Build
A bit cold out there today but managed to get a few track links primed.
Deburring links sat up in my model building room and then cleaning and priming outside in small batches for now.
These done today are going to be brown base coated next to see what they look like and am going to try the AK Tracks primer out.
A long job this way I think but no rush..

Some time and reasonable weather and the long and tedious task of individually priming and painting the track links continues.
Still a long way to go I think

Re: Panther G 2022 #15 Build
Finally after hold ups to do with the poor weather and then weeks and weeks of painting track links I have tonight started track assembly.
Managed to get hold of some black M3 washers and some shorter split pins as well to avoid having to cut any surplus length off.

Re: Panther G 2022 #15 Build
A couple of hours on the build this afternoon.
Left side track in two parts now given its dusty coat.
No heavy deposits to be added due to the dry summer weather.

Re: Panther G 2022 #15 Build
Thanks Gary
Such a long time to do but my fault mainly.
Be nice to get the drive sprockets fully on and get the tracks out of the way.
So much more interesting and less tedious things to do with the build

Hi Damon
This one is a MR Hobby PS290.
0.5mm needle which has an additional fan nozzle included.
I also have the optional larger paint cup and extension handle.
Works well for the slightly bigger stuff with out going to a full size spray gun.

Drive sprockets on and track test fit.
84 links
Needs a couple of permanent track pins and securing fully.

Re: Panther G 2022 #15 Build
Both tracks now fully fitted along with the rear idler hub caps.
A long time spent with this but that's the running gear done for now apart from fitting the road wheel hub caps and securing the drive gear hub cap plus fittings.
Next up, back on to the decks of the tank last visited many months ago.
