Popham Airfield Model Show

Post by Adrian Harris »

Due to a change of dates, SAG were double booked this year, so we were asked at Middle Wallop if we could provide a tank display at Popham Airfield this weekend.

Thanks to Brian for the company and use of his gazebo on Saturday and to Steve and Denise for the use of theirs on Sunday (and the refreshments :-) ), plus David, Steve and Fiona and Simon for their company on Sunday.

Being on the walk up from the car park, we had a lot of visitors stopping on the way in, plus quite a bit of interest from the flying community, most of whom worry about grams, so couldn't believe the weight of the models.

With this being probably the closest show to Otterbourne, it was good to surprise people that the kits were made just up the road:-)

Adrian.

The Jet powered planes were dead impressive being flown along flight line behind us. So just for an authentic sound, a turbine powered Abrams?
Just a thought! :D
