Lord, give me strength to change the things I am able to change.... and patience to endure the things I can not change :-) A bunch of Tiger and Panther variants, a few 88`s and smaler ones like Hetzer, Stug III, etc. and soon a Leo II

Careful of the snow-thats what happened to my KT in the wet stuff! To much grouped up in the tracks and actually broke the aluminum link at the pin ears...no fun replacing a link in the snow...

Well, that's why I like to use Olaf's armor steel track links. Snow proof, stone proof, mud proof, all proof. Simply assemble and forget. I tested one eye of a link with more than 100 kgs, with no damage....

If the track is strong, the breakage will occur somewhere else... I like to run my tracks quite loose for this reason. :(
A little too much is about right...

Yes, that' right. But damage will occur much later and only at much higher load, if at all. Therefore snow, sand and so on will not cause any damage.

Well, my tank had 2 pivot arms broken due to a massive stone in the train drive, and I had to build 2 new arms. This may occur, but is a very rare incident.

Here my accident. It was hardly imaginable that in this sandy ground could be a stone. But there was one! 2 arms were broken (sorry for the non-AT models).

Wet sand can be a very high load for the drive train, and more than one model got broken track links in these grounds. But a tank is a tank, and it has to overcome such events. Steel track links are very helpful for these kinds of missions.
