Hi Gary,

Looks like you're making good progress. Not wishing to teach you how to suck eggs (!) but don't forget to thoroughly degrease everything prior to priming - even etch primer won't fight its way through fingerprints, etc! And if you can abrade the surface first that will give an even better bond. On my JP, I sand or glass bead blasted all parts before painting and, as an extra precaution, gave everything a good wipe down or swill off with acetone. Amazingly, here in France one can buy acetone off the shelf in all supermarkets!!

Thanks for the help and advice really appreciate it, on paint front I used Upol Degreaser and etch primer after a light sanding painted a couple of bit's hopefully take fingers crossed.
That is strange regarding the acetone.

Hi All

Etch primer/red primer being applied bottom of the hull suspension carriers ready for fitting.
U-pol degreaser and etch primer superb a lot darker grey than I expected.
I've managed to retap suspension arms sealy tool set is brilliant covers M2-M12 threads and comes with a tread pitch measuring tool.
Unfortunately aluminium suspension arm did retap however it is now loose in the thread..
So ordered another one lesson learned
I am looking at possibly getting some bit's built for me.
Would anyone be interested in detailing the front mudguards?
what comes in the kit is basic and I could do what's supplied, however some of you out there are on whole other level compared to my mediocre skills.

Hi All

Painting continues, finally managed to get around to counter sinking the holes on the back of the sprockets to fit nut and bolts.
Just 63 to refit
Pretty pleased with how it turned out, it not scale correct and it's better than the standard option.

I used a pillar drill, with a 6.5mm hss titanium drill bit.
I set it at 1.8mm deep (depth of the bolt head)
So it's flush with the back of the sprocket.
I drilled the hole oversize so I can get a wrench on the bolt for tightening.

Been a bit busy lately so not much more done on the painting front, so been doing bit's and pieces inbetween time.
Building tool holders from Armorpax just waiting for correct size Brass rod to finish off.
And bit of detailing on the rear exhaust pipes.

Hi All,

Nice to see other Panther build logs, I'm following you all and good luck with your builds.
Just finishing off sanding the front sprockets and thought they were a pain..
The rear idlers look far more difficult, I don't want to use a dremel as I don't think I can get a satisfactory finish.
I have some milliput and perfect plastic filler, however as it's a moving part wasn't sure they would be durable enough.
Even then sanding could prove difficult as there is limited space.
