Quad electronics bit lost

Hello,
I'm rushing this a bit as only at my dad's for three nights and trying to help with his quad.
We only have one sheet of A4 with rough guide on how to connect things.
I think he has the latest three red boxes setup.
No power seems to be getting to the Rx. What acts as a bec? The twin motor controller has shrink wrap over the middle wire to the Rx so cut? The sound module doesn't seem to have 5v on the two wires going to the Rx.
Any more documentation or just what supplies the 5v would be great.
Sorry for not doing more research. I'd like to get him going before I have to go home.

Might be a bit late but the main motor controller in the model provides the 5V supply. In the case of a tank it's Motion Control A.

Modules A & B don't play well together as both supply 5V on the receiver leads, so the red wire is usually cut on Module B so there's no interference.

If you've been sent a Module B for the Quad, then you need to repair the red wire to get the 5V supply needed for the receiver and the Audio Module.

I think I understand. The lower power motor controller is normally for turret motors...
I didn't think I would have to do that much surgery.
Much appreciated. I'm also, very carefully, trying to restore the lipos he has deep discharged.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother with the Lipos. I over-discharged some Graphine ones and tried to resurrect them.

They eventually came back up to the right voltage but had about 1/100th of the original capacity.

Plus I didn't fancy being on tenterhooks every time I charged them in future.

They're OK if used correctly, but not worth the risk if they've been abused.

It is the first time I have tried to bring any back. I'm being very careful.
Thanks to your help I have power to Rx. Bit puzzled by what looks like a bridge rectifier with two components under it (maybe caps).

Oh. Is the bridge rectifier for the smoke fan? The old style just tied to main motor?

Yes, the BR means the fan still goes in the correct direction when the tank is going forwards or backwards.

I don't trust LiPos as far as I can throw them and I have a goodly number of them small and large. In my opinion having LiPos around is like sleeping
near a dragon who snores. You just never know.

Oh no. That was actually your garage? Were the lipos being charged or just decided to do it all on their own?
I'll tell dad to recycle the batteries. Expensive job as pretty new.
I'm wondering about replacing the rectifier with a fet from the sound unit but need to research how to program it.

It was another person's shed. He put a LiPo on to charge, went to the loo and by the time he came out again the shed was an inferno. I bought the remains of his Tiger 131 kit, which has suffered quite a bit of damage.

My dad has put his dodgy lipos outside till they can go to the dump...
