Prototype M26 Pershing turrets arrived on Friday - very happy how these have turned out. I placed a flip board marker next to the turret to show the scale.
The interior of the turret has been cast hollow so it "only" weights 11kg - within 150 grams of the predicted weight from our 3d modelling software.
We will get these onto our CNC machines in the next few days to machine all the features needed.
A very detailed wheel indeed.
Unlike German design , no locking tabs used to prevent the nuts from being loosen.
Is German too dedicated , or American don't think it is necessary? What is the true reason behind using it or not?
Regards,
Lerh Chang

Wow, this tank is looking great! Even though I’ve missed out on German armor in the past,(King Tiger) for my first Armortek tank, I’m thrilled about buying a M26 Pershing.
