Not sure if l'm missing something but the instructions call out for 162 track links per side but that seems to be far too many. Trial fitting mine 155 seems to be the right number giving a little slack. Have l miss read the instructions or does anyone else have this?

I cannot remember the exact number I used but it was around the number you quoted (155).

Hi Steve,

Having built 2 UC's and run then for quite a few hours, yes mine are currently 154 links. In my experience if you fit 164 the sprocket just goes round and the tank doesn't move.

Just been in contact with Dave at Armorpax about replacement track pins for my u/c. Unfortunately missed his last order so is there anyone out there looking to order these pins as Dave has to order a minimum of 500.

i have just test run my u/c on short grass, 154 tracks on both sides (just counted, used to be 155) the tracks are looking a little twisted (split pins from kit used). the track is still spinning off the bracket, always on the same side. Would you suggest taking another 1 or 2 tracks off.
I have a little time, the brakes for some reason work on the bench but not under load lol,

Hi David,

I have done lot of mods including putting a spacer ring on the outside of the drive sprocket to prevent the track moving off. Also 2 motor drive system instead of single motor and brakes. Disable the track bending system as this enabled to put a 12 volt 9 amp hour gel battery in instead of lipo. The only other thing is the drive sprockets wear down very quickly I have already replaced one set and I notice the present ones are wearing down. I think they need to be steel. I am still using the original split pins as in the kit as I think the solid pins make the track too stiff. I do use mine quite a bit at shows.
I would like to add these are only my opinions and I have built 2 UC's and modified both.

Thanks for the info, I had to replace the motor and that was no easy task to get the gear off. thanks goes out to a buddie that had a good shop. (and Armourtek for the replacement)
as for the double motor, and extras, im not that talanted. but this may be a good mod for amoutek to work on.
but i have already fried one servo on the stearing (and now possibly another) im thinking of disconnecting it.

Hi Steve, I have attached a photo of my UC, The tracks are mare up of the full 162 links and are not slack. Due to the number of times it has been run and the beading in of the track links and the split pins I have had to make full use of the track tension availability as they were beginning to slip on the sprocket on one side. I have to have the UC standing on its tracks to enable me to close them up to fit the removable pin.
To enable the easy removal of the tracks I have used 3 brass panel pins that are the full width of the track and the same diameter as the holes for the track pins as they are simple to pull out with a pair of pliers. I have had no problems with these pins working their way out during running and it makes the tracks so easy to remove when something jams the tracks, which has happened on a number of occasions.
