This is really for Alex Easton, although you might all enjoy it ..........

The main joy of the Open Day is to meet people, both old friends and new contacts. Kian, Monique and the gang always put on a good venue (and refreshments !) for that. But this time my main focus was on the new Panther G, aka., for me, Cuckoo. And it didn't disappoint ........

I spent most of my time talking to Steve Norris about it, as he's kindly agreed to build it for me. I hope he won't mind me saying that he was very impressed by it, and is looking forward to tackling one. Comparing it the Panther A next to it, and earlier iterations of the Panther, there's clearly been a step-change in design, and all to the good. I'm not as clued up on the historical details as I should be, but the following improvements were noted (amongst probably many others):
  • much improved running gear, especially the road wheels, idlers and suspension. This will be enhanced on Cuckoo as she didn't have the bazooka plates fitted;
    general design improvements = better angles, more authentic access plates, better barrel design;
    the etched brass grills on the engine deck are now reset, and look superb;
    lots of nice tools and accessories, especially the working barrel lock;
    the rear bins are now steel rather than cast aluminium, so have an opening top hatch and storage room inside (somewhere to put the on / off switch ?);
    nicer cupola design, with clear resin vision ports and an m/g rail.
In fact, I was so busy talking I almost forgot to take some pictures ! I hope AT will put up some more soon (shipping is likely to be during October, Kian says), but here are my poor efforts that you may be able to pick out details from:

REALLY looking forward to this one - the Panther is iconic, isn't it ? And it's going to look so good in green SCC15 with big white stars ..... :lol:

Best wishes,

Chris

Hmmm possibly the groundwork is in place for a re-issue of a late JagdPanther in 2023?

Hi Guys
Looks great shame I couldn't get there but it clashed with the
St Albans show.
I with Jerry hope we can get a Jagdpanther with this level of details soon.

Hi
I just wanted to say thankyou to Monique, Kian and family for a great day, I am not sure how you arranged the good weather as well but it was just what was needed. I met and chatted with lots of people whose builds I have followed on the forum and it was a pleasure to see them in person.
Thanks to Kian for demonstrating the Churchill for me and loading the one I bought into my car. I just couldn't resist it :D .
My dad was rather surprised when I took the boxes into his house while I visit him for a few days before heading home.

Regards

Thanks for uploading pictures of 2022 Panther G with design review! I have watched youtube clip a few times (especially Panther G part :D ) but those pictures are good and wish to see some more pictures of Panther G!

I also looking forward to seeing the Panther G and running of Panther G Prototype model with full action of sound and running as well as new smoke option pack working!

Thank you Chris!
