Why did the museum let the historical remains exposed and unpainted outdoor? Look so sad at those surface rust!

Chang, I know, but much Museums in Germany did not have a big budget. But the rust you see is only surface rust, the steel and all the parts are ok. But I am with you, a bit conservation could be.

That's what I feel sad about. A cheap simple surface etch-primer paint on the surface can stop the 24/7 never stopped rust completely.

Since I started to build the JT, I collected a lot of pics around the net, mostly on russian pages. Here is the download Link to my Dropbox. The Tigers are sorted by tactical No. If I could not found any No, the name is the place where it was lost. If you found any fault or new sources please let me know.

Amazing pictures. I'm impressed how big the breach and gun are. Truely a destroyer sized 5" gun on wheels+tracks.

Found this on Youtube.

Looks like they are for a bracket. Possibly to hold the end of the engine deck plate ?

PS Sorry Adrian just saw your comment above looks like we are on the same track . I'll mill this detail in , It just makes the plain side plate look a bit more interesting

Just noticed one more thing ! once the nuts where tighten up they have welded them on , it won't be going any where
