TANKFEST 2022 - 24/25/26 June
Stephen and I had a good meeting at the Tank Museum today to discuss Armortek's area at TankFest 2022.
In summary, we will have what looks to be a perfect spot - we will be next to an Ice Cream stall AND on the grass
In all seriousness though - it looks like we will have the best spot we have had for a few years. In the thick of the action and along the main thoroughfare. The image that Stephen kindly put together below shows where we will be and where the running area will be.
TankFest is due to run over 3 days, Friday 24th June until Sunday 26th June. Set up of our stand will be on Thursday evening and packing up will be on Sunday evening.
If you would like to attend either the full event or one or two of the days, send us an email at sales@armortek.co.uk to reserve your place along with details of the model you will bring.
Please also let us know if you are able to assist with the setting up and packing up of the Armortek display area and the running area.
Camping will be available in the car park along with shower facilities - we will need to communicate numbers to the Tank Museum fairly soon on that.

Re: TANKFEST 2022 - 24/25/26 June
Thanks to everyone who has registered to attend Tankfest. It should be a great three days and we have customers coming from Belgium, Germany, Holland and of course the UK. We will request everyone attending to bring some (non-perishable) food from their country or region to keep us all going
We are now at capacity for Friday and probably Saturday as well. We have 1 space left for Sunday.
In the next couple of days everyone who has registered to attend will receive an email from ourselves with more details and timings. You will also need to provide your vehicle registration number and insurance certificates (if not already provided).
Look forwards to see you all there.

The party had begun !!
Many thanks to everyone who helped set up the pitch and running areas - especially to Frank, Kees and Peter who drove over from the continent and put in a good day's shift despite being sleep deprived.
Look forward to Helen's culinary treats tomorrow, and maybe even some tank running

TankFest Friday, not too busy, lots of friends to catch up with and a postage stamp running area. And the rain held off until packing up time.

- Couldn't resist this detail from Mick Graham's painting "Egg Banjo" - anyone who's served wlll recognise this moment, dawn, the operator has put the gas stove on and provided a diesel stained fried egg sandwich which will drip egg yolk onto your carefully marked map, together with coffee, if your lucky, laced with rum, alll accompanied by a choking diesel fumes from the aux gen. If you haven't served, it's just a great tank painting.

Quick walk-by photoshoot from the rather small running area on Saturday. Great to talk to everyone, it only makes me want to take part again that much more!

Re: TANKFEST 2022 - 24/25/26 June
I think "rather small running" may have been the understatement of the year. Unfortunately our running area was reduced at the last minute from a 15x15 pitch to a 12x4 pitch - that made it pretty hard to run more than two tanks at a time.
Nonetheless, it was nice to catch up again after all this time and the weather was far better then feared.
Friday was very quiet at the museum, but Saturday and Sunday were much busier and the was a good buzz.
Saturday also brought the pleasure of the Churchill being called into action to tow a KT
Before you deny anything Peter, there were witnesses.
And finally - a huge thanks to everyone who came along and especially to those who helped set up on Thursday and breakdown everything again on Sunday.

Hi Kian,
I´m not deying anything!
Especially not the fact that the Churchill recovery-tryes were a complete desaster... Even with you sitting and standing on top of the Churchill!!
(Sorry, wouldn´t have brought up the subject, but you started... )
Cheers
Peter
btw: has anyone taken pics or film of this??!!
