Hello everyone,
these are the original parts from Armortek.
Welding or brazing is a good idea.
Peter
That's good information Peter. I believe that ensuring that the arms are able to screw into the holes up to the flanges
will be sufficient. I plan to use a strong thread lock. I will not be brazing my parts together. I do not wish to add another variable
to this system which is the heat required to braze these parts together. I feel it's more important to protect the steering apparatus
from the servo power when the wheels are unable to turn.

Also I think it would be useful to mix the wheel steering and track functions so that they complement each other. I can't imagine
an instance when the two things shouldn't be working together. At the same time I can't see how relying on only the wheels to steer
would ever be a good idea.

I echo what Jerry said. I would think halftrack would use a little track motor mixing (differential steering) along with the front wheel steering, and not just rely on front wheels. Otherwise I can see how they would be impossible to steer. Hopefully that broken linkage can be extracted and replaced. Fantastic models at this show!

Even though my half-track is in pieces at the moment I was able to modify and test the profile (Taranis- OpenTx) I use to control it
to mix the 3 channels used for tracks and steering. So now if I want to turn left the tracks and wheels move together. I'm thinking I might
apply a differential curve to the wheel movement. I have yet to prevent neutral turns as not practical for a half-track.
