Mark - Nice work on those screens. I find that type of mesh difficult to solder. Perhaps it has some kind of coating or lacquer on it (to prevent tarnish). Where did you find the tiny roller chain for the gun elevation thingy?
Lovely work and superb details.

Hi Robert, the chain came with the East Coast Armoury gun kit but you can buy this as replacements for model motorcycles as an example from ebay 124520521231
Yes you can get mesh in a clear lacquer this didn't have it luckily otherwise it would have had a thinners bath to remove to coating.
Thank you for your kind comments Yves.

Hi Mark
A real work of art on the new turret and the gun mount.
Looks really tight for the comander though.
Regards
Derek

Hi Mark,
Great work on the mesh screens. Where did you source the mesh from? I have been inspired to try something similar on my Tiger 1!

Hi Mark,
great work, well done! Do you already have a movie about? Did you make the recoil too?

Thank you all for your kind comments, this is always an encouragement when building any model.
Alastair, the mesh I bought from Dortmund model show a few years back, I also will need more for another project I have waiting to be built, let me have a search I will send you a link if I find anything.
Hi Günter, the only film I have of the 222 is this one demonstrating the modified differentials. no I never made the recoil work, I did give it some thought but that is all.

December 1943 2.Panzer Division was withdrawn from Russia to France for refitting the Aufklärungs-Abteilung stayed behind and joined the rest of the Division in France during January 1944 this gave the division several months for training, servicing of vehicles and collecting new vehicles to bring the division up to full strength.
No doubt during this time older vehicles would have been given a thorough inspection repairing any damage and a full repaint.
I have now completed all that I’m going to do with the 222 apart from the electrics and sound which will be completed at a later date.
Gun mount now fully painted and weathered.
I also added a driver upper body to the 222 so when the drivers visors are open the driver can be seen.
Fully painted and weathered

Superb Mark, a real work of art and reflects all the effort you've put into it, great research and realisation in scale. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mark,
All in all a absolutely beautiful and impressive model and with the improved differentials the off-road driving is also very authentic. Completed with the electronics the armored goddess becomes even more impressive.
