Pics and clips from events

Post by Gerhard Michel »

Hello guys,

the corona crisis unfortunatelly inhibits the well known tank events in the present. But I wonder if there were meetings and 'tank missions' in the past that are worth to show some pics or clips. Therefore I will try to open this thread and invite everyone to show what he means to be interesting or entertaining.

Here I will start with impressions of our 'tank proving ground' in Eckersmühlen (Germany):

Hello guys,

thank you for liking my post. But will nobody post impressions of his own tank driving events? All over the world there must be dozens of unofficial meetings I guess...... :?

I would like to see pics like this; a snapshot taken from my onboard cam in Emu:

Hi Gerhard
I thought that I might add some photos from last weekend, we had a few enthusiast over for a drive day, including a few neighbours it end up around 30 people and was a very good day all-round. Sorry to all of you waiting for your 200ltr drums, organising the drive day has consumed all of my time for the last 8 weeks with the ballast under the rails being laid in the dark the night before, and the station didn’t make it to the paint shop, and no doors or windows, still so much more to do…
Not all of the tanks in the photos are Armortek I hope that is no big issue.
Thanks
Liam

WOW Liam, that is a very nice play area.
Will you have running trains as well or just tanks.

A real shame you are so far away as id love to run my Panther there.

Cheers

Liam,
I second what Tim said - that is a fabulous train station! Like an HO kit, only 1/6 scale. Perhaps you can give a tutorial page on how to make buildings like that. The tunnel is awesome as well.

I am sure that tiger should be parked up in the village protecting the bank, and shermans with loudspeakers fitted to the turrets coming through the railway tunnel.

We are having a model Drive/Show day on Sunday 20th March at the same location as last year which is a private property west of Brisbane, Queensland. This is an invitation only event however if anyone is interested in models and would like to come and have a look, or any owners that we do not know about, please request an invitation to liam@lsm.net.au

Hopefully we will have some more interesting props so if you find yourself in south east Queensland around the time let us know.

Thanks
Liam

They provided us with this small running area, which was very useful as the main area of the hanger was absolutely chock full of display tables, trader stands and punters, so it would have been impossible to run the tanks at all otherwise.

Interesting how people started to appear each time the engines were fired up :D

Adrian.

It has been a long time since we have had a drive day but last Saturday all the ducks managed to line up, even the weather although it was a little hot.

A big thanks to everyone that came, and for those on the forum that think 150 miles is a long trip, Paul travelled 1,950km from the north Queensland, and Wolfgang 1,440km from the south in NSW - thank you both.

The two 1:16 scale tanks in the photo are for our junior drivers who are 2 and 5 years old.

Working towards bigger things next year.
thanks
Liam
