I don't have an iPhone but would this help to reduce the size so that it can be uploaded ?

The restriction is there due to storage size and because people were loading full sized images. I run my screens at 1920x1200 and even then they didn't fit  One of the unexpected side effects of having such high resolution cameras in devices nowadays.

I still use good old "paint" on windows "reduce size" on home page.
Save as "something else" to protect original and I'm usually looking for a round 200k or smaller file size. Which will do most pictures.
You can add simple text and pointers without getting too techy.
Hope it helps
