Chris,
Don't be to sure about the Russian angle, something cropped up the other day while I was hard at work on the sofa watching some mind numbing clips.
Episode 104. Armata. Terra Incognita. Part 2

The ultra Russian propaganda show Combat Approved.

Here they show Russian military might, sprinkled with high tech, low tech, BS tech and low down devious tech.

Armata,

A captain scarlet Unitron tank look a like, and over a decent network system, a possible unmanned tank just like Unitron. No BV required.

and then there's it's suspiciously looking Red Armortek fire control boxes, just over twelve minutes in.

It'll be brave decision on Armortek part, but it looks like they've already made the boxes

The clip is long at over 30 minutes, there's seriously over the top commentary, the generals are over weight too, but the RoboCop targeting and protection systems are scary, as is the exhaust.

What upset me the most, they didn't even mention Challenger 2 as a possible threat, maybe it's time for Challenger 3 8)

John, you're onto something - the slide with the Red Armortek boxes says in Russian "optzional'niye bloki" - optional boxes/modules, clearly that's the new Options Pack. Looks like they might have cracked barrel smoke and a stabilised main armament. I can't quite make out the last two but maybe animatronic fat generals?

I like these types of clips from any and all nations, there all bias, none of the weapons ever go wrong, nobody gets hurt and all the equipment is cheap as chips

Virtually all the player's in the clip were as wooden as Clint Eastwood in Firefox. except the lovely ladies at the end. Providing the nagging warnings announcements, tank on fire, tank under fire, load more ammo, low on fuel, camera's need cleaning, hydraulic oil low, engine oil levels low low low........
Geeez worse than a MG Maestro after you've just driven it out of the show room.

Thinking about it, there's a remake film here.
If someone was able to sneak in and install a decent receiver on the T14, hook it up to the Armortek red boxes (Forget spectrum DX9, it'd never bind) and try and drive it to errmmmm, some where that wants a really expensive Russian tank???

Think Russian! Think Russian!
ps
I don't think they were real Russian generals though.
(Not fat enough and not enough medals on the chest for doing sweet fanny adams)

If Armortek decides to do a Scimitar, this is how it might look:

Just thought I'd throw this out there...

But there has not been a Kompact Kit for a while...

How awesome would a Meteor Engine Kompact Kit be? Could be fitted to static models. Could be on a stand next to 'RC' models. Great potential desk piece. Think of the dioramas ;-) The detail options!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_Meteor

Used in a ton of different tanks.

Also, no Rolls-Royce markings on them... no licensing ;-)

Just a thought.

Cheers,

RPR

Is it too early to get the Armortek forums favourite thread restarted?

Initial Africa Tiger, Centurion, Challenger 1 would be cool..also, I'm still patiently waiting for a Panther :p

Cheers,

Alex!

I'd love to see some mobile artillery so Dragon / BBI figures can be seen inside them.

Marder, Sexton, Nashorn.....

The Marder and Sexton should be reasonably quick to develop. The Pak is already there and the chassis for the Sexton is mostly there.

Or a Sherman based ARV will be quite cool.

Hi guys,

at an inofficial tank meeting (Corona!) in Hausen last summer there was also a Löwe (lion). Might this be an option for Armorteks next model? Sorry for the blurred pics. They are snapshots out of a movie because I couldn't visit this event.

Good choice Gerhard, That's a big gun in a big turret on the Lion. Unlikely, like Conqueror interesting but not enough for sales?
Then, I said they'd never sell how many famo famo's,
What do I know :|

I think Armortek could actually build short runs Tiger VK 45.01(P) or a 38 (T) a lot easier now that they have the running gear for both models sorted, lower development costs etc.

I'm sure they have enough on their plate with Churchill at the moment (sure I've said that before).

Maybe an interim old Favorite first and then a new development. :|

A nice new smoking barrel system for all tanks would be nice.(Xmas money burning a hole in the pocket) Gee, that was along time ago, poof and it was gone.
