You have broken the bond so the residual loctite is now just friction.
Up to you whether you want to do it now or later on when the parts may be a bit harder to get at.

I'm about to build the drive sprockets on my early Tiger 1( 2015 version ). After examining the diagram on page 15 and test fitting parts I have a query with regards the hub cap part number CE2306 and bolts CP0153. I can't understand how this hubcap is fixed to the actual wheel. The 5 bolts on the outer edge barely protrude through to the other side of the cap, and the middle one doesn't at all. However, there are no corresponding holes in the wheel to screw them into anyway.
In addition what lubrication do people use for the drive gear.

The center bolt should be long enough to go into the threaded hole in the drive shaft.
We are advised to leave the gears dry, or use a dry lubricant, but there are other opinions out there.
A little too much is about right...

I'll have a check with the centre bolt. What happens with the others?

The rest of the bolts are cosmetic.

I just rechecked the drive gear assembly. The outer bolts protrude slightly through the hubcap, but with nothing to screw into anyway on the hub. The centre bolt doesn't protrude at all and therefore couldn't be screwed into the hole in the end of the drive shaft ( the bolt diameter is also smaller than that hole ).

Hi Andy

I have the 2017 version of a late Tiger 1 so it might be different than yours. On mine, the sprocket hubcap was meant to be a push fit (or maybe bonded) into the sprocket. Have a look here where I made a little modification so that the hubcap could be bolted to the sprocket.

As I said your version could be different than mine.

Thanks for reply Vince. I suspect that you are right in that the hubcap needs to be glued into the sprocket as do the cone bolts.

Just be aware that if you glue it to the sprocket than it could be difficult to remove it in the future.
