Post by David Brady »

Hi,

Thought these might be of interest to some of the newer members that have not seen these brochures before.

I love looking at these - anyone got the PzIV original brochure?

Don't think I've seen one for the sdkfz7, 88 flak or the panther
Anyone got them?

Cheers

Panzer IV brochure around may 2002, price was 2995£ with VAT for the kit. At that time the Armortek factory was in Daventry (proprietor JH Spalding)
This kit to my knowledge was the first (Tiger I followed in 2003) : so 2022 will mark the 20th anniversary of Armortek!

Interesting stuff. This one is even earlier, from 2006. It's what started me off down the slippery slope. That brochure stuck in my mind over the next few years. I waited until Gill and Mark were installed in Devon and Armortek was in safe hands and I could actually lay hands on a model rather than rely on a piece of paper and a vague promise to deliver in "Autumn 2006". I might have been waiting a while. I didn't finally take the plunge until the first batch of Pz III. Interesting that the Panther batch size was 95 - biggest Armortek run?

Hi,

Never seen the panther brochure, both are great and must be handled with white gloves at all times.

Cheers

There was a posting on here somewhere giving the old model run numbers but I can't seem to find it.

Combined Sd.Kfz 7 and Flak 37 Flyer. Envelope is dated 8 Nov 2002.

Probably worth more than the kits now

I wonder who’s built more Tiger I, Henschel or Armortek?

It's brilliant seeing the old Armortek brochures!

If anyone fancies any sobering perspective, I was 11 when the Panzer IV first came out

Here's to another two decades!

Cheers,

Alex
