Tiger 2 88 mm AP and HE rounds

Post by Mike Stannard (toyrific) »

Hi Guys

Here is another new product many have asked for. The 88 mm ammunition for the Tiger 2. Unfortunately it would be to expensive to make these in metal like the Tiger 1 rounds, these are 7.5" and 7.75" long approximately. With a minimum run of 500 of each projectile and 1000 cases to match is more than I think the market would require. With this in mind I am offering them as resin castings. If the Tiger 2 owners really want them in metal I can get them made, but I would need firm orders of 200 of each type at $30.00 each paid up front for me to commit to getting them made.

See pictures of masters, which have some Photoshop work done on them as I only made one master for the shell casing. The projectiles are reworks of the Tiger 1 projectiles with the wider driving bands for the Tiger 2.

Once again I have to ask you to let me know your interest and how many you are likely to buy as this will determined how many molds I need to make. With molding rubber at $100 a gallon and the way the economy is I do not want to make multiple molds if I do not need them.

Each round will be cast in resin in a light gray color and will require the fill gate to be cut off (bottom of case). At this time I do not plan to make decals for these, if however the sales are very high I may consider it.

Price per round is $12.00 or 10 for $110.00. Available late January, early February 2009.

Please e-mail me with how many you would like to buy. I need interest for at least 100 of each type for them to be put into production so don't leave it to chance that others will show interest, wether you need 1 or 10 of each it might make the difference in production or not.

Tiger 2 projectiles comparison with Tiger 1 projectiles. Basically the projectiles are the same size and detail with larger driving bands. The Tiger 2 AP projectile does have a second cut ring around the top, seen better in the next pixture of a real projectile.

Hi Guys

As pointed out to me a customer, these are the same rounds used in the Jagdpanther. To date there has been very little interest shown, hardly enough to cover the cost of making one mold of each round, maybe this is due to the holidays although the post has been viewed 212 times. As I said in my first post, do not rely on others to show enough interest, if you plan on getting some of these let me know.

Regards
Mike
