Re: A 47 years old love
Hello at all
The next target is he mantlet cover. A very heavy challenge. The metal bands are ready.
I used M1,2 screws. But 2 screw taps are broken. So I drilled with a 1 mm drill, hole by hole 2 mm deep, a circle that I can turn it out to remove it.
Regards
Frank

Hello all
The mantlet cover is a horror piece. Not nice but I cannot make it better. When you see Stephens cover, it looks like an original. Really a masterpiece.
I had used an old Bundeswehr trouser.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Hopefully we can see us next year at Bovington.
All the best
Frank

That's looking pretty good, Frank. Not easy, as you say. I ended up using a very lightweight cotton callico but I wish I'd pre-shrunk it. When I applied the shoe-cream, it did shrink a bit. Frohe Weinachten. Stephen

Re: A 47 years old love
Incredible details! The mantlet cover came out excellent. Your model combine my two favorite things - bulldozer and tank! Amazing work!
How do you like the Wabeco D2400 lathe? I don't see many of those any more. I have its bigger brother, the D6000 for nearly 24 years. Masterpiece of a machine.
Happy New year!
best regards, Bob

Re: A 47 years old love
Hello Robert
Many thanks for you feedback.
Well, a tank with a dozer blade is nice, but a tank with a dozer blade and an excavator arm is better. See FFG/Wisent 1 or Wisent 2. Günter Gäbelein and I have a Wisent 1 – perfect to play!
I agree with you, Wabeco have really good equipment for us. But I am mostly working with brass and aluminum. So I have a costomised EASY 440. My tooling space is: 440mm/1250mm/125mm
