PRICE REDUCTIONS/DISCOUNTS AND/OR HOLIDAY SPECIALS

Post by james leslie »

This question is posed to Mark and Gill.

1. Will there be any type of holiday or year end special offered such as the one offered last year when you promoted a 50% discount on an 88mm cannon if the buyer also purchased the SdKfz 7 halftrack? This year a promotion involving a discount on a tank or, perhaps an option 1 motion pack given with purchase and payment for a tank kit as a suggestion.

2. In light of the present worldwide economic crisis and impending worldwide depression, is a rollback of Armortek kit prices forthcoming? In the last months we have seen oil prices drop almost $100 a barrel, metals prices have collapsed along with the banking and mortgage industries. One would hope that Armortek could take advantage of lower prices for metals and other commodity materials and pass something along to its loyal customers. I see that Great Britian is even lowering VAT taxes albeit by only a paltry 1.0%. What say you Mark and Gill? What say the rest of us? [/b]

James

Thank you for your comments.

We are coming towards the end of an extremely busy and successful year. In fact November was our best trading month to date.

In 2006 we were selling a Panther kit for £2,995.00*, in 2007 we sold the Late Tiger 1 for £2,995.00*. Other kits, have been priced accordingly using these prices as bench marks. During this period we were under pressure from increased raw material prices but did not pass this on to customers and held prices at this level.

In this period we have also concentrated on improving both the quality and detail level of the kits together with hopefully offering an improving standard of customer service.

We will always look at opportunities to give special offers where appropriate and within the confines of ensuring that Armortek has a strong commercial base for the ongoing benefit and security of our loyal customers.

*Note UK prices used as examples.

UK Vat has been reduced from 17.5% to 15%. This decrease has been passed on with immediate effect.

Hello Chaps

The price for metals is still very high either virgin or scrap. As we all know that with Armortek Models are good value for money.Gill and Mark do there best to give us Customers the best deal. A lot of us now are demanding more detailed parts which Mark is doing and absorbing some of the cost. They are currently the best on the market. For those who are not in the UK are the Lucky ones as you dont have to pay the VAT. We here in the UK have to take advantage of the new VAT rate as its is only on for a year

Gill and Mark do a great job in these Hard Times

I am new to this but have witten to several of you privately. I have pre-ordered one of the mid-Tiger I s. I must say that ArmorTek has just about the best reputation of any company I have delt with. One of the comments I have gotten from all my correspondents is that the new Mid-Tiger will be the best designed model yet given ArmorTeks track record. On this I have begin what will be a $7 to $8,000 journey. Need more be said. This is not cheep, but it is getting better.

Cheep can be bought in China.

Welcome Brian . I don't think it would be fair for armortek to discount at any time . which they won't .. We are all in this togerther on a level playing field !!. I would not like the idea of other modelers getting a special deal days after I have paid for mine. The back up and support from armortek is second to none . Plus with the new HASS machines the kits are getting better with more accurate parts . I'm spending at the moment $15.000.00 .AUD Dollars with Armortek plus the other models I have . The way the U.S. dollar is at the moment the U.S. guys are getting there kits cheaper then us poor Aussies ... Dale

Hi Guys
As an engineer I can assure everyone that Metal prices in the Uk are as high as ever.
Also Mark and Gill have just bought 2 new Hass machines that dont come cheap.( I know we just got one for our workshop.)
The Pz III was priced at under £2000 which is very good value for whats in the box.
I for one want Gill and Mark to keep tradeing for the long term so I can build others.

Regards

Derek

Lee you almost made my day...
But as you say as a EU member I have to pay VAT.

But if I had bought my tanks with my own company I would have been able to get the VAT-money back.
But how justify a 1:6th tank model in an Arcitectual office... Hmmm, don´t think so.
Or maybe, a model is a model - No, I drop that :!:

Kent,

If companies can fill their offices with plants and aquariums to improve the working invironment, I'm sure you could fill yours with tanks and call it a business expense
