Is that with the kit smoker(s) or your own Phil? Seems a good smoke volume.

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.
That's my own with one of adrian's control units, the voltage to the air pump is less than half so there's lots more volume and pressure left, I have just ordered a selection of voltage converters to fine tune the system.

Nice
Phil, what’s the silver box underneath Adrian’s smoke fan controller? I’m guessing it gets warm by the fins.....

Hi Kevin, that's my addition it's a voltage converter, it's an easy way of getting the voltage that your require for all the additional systems with the bonus of a max amp output. My smoker arrangement is a bugger to get right. Adrian's controller has a very wide working voltage range something like 2 to 60 volts, which is very handy when your using a dirty great air pump that wants to move huge amounts of air.

Congratulations Phil, that's all looking outstanding. The smoke test is impressive. For added effect, would you consider taking a bleed off the main exhausts to feed the GUE? It would complete the picture of the back end of the Grand Old Smoker.

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.
Thanks stephen, it's a mammoth task for sure, believe it or not the gue exhaust is plumbed into the main pipe but it prefers to come down the big bore, now that's a lesson for those about to plumb! I've been talking to Adrian about a whole separate system but it's going to be a right pain in the arse.

The six cooling grooves around the generator housing still need clean up. Have a look at the drawings on the previous page.

Hi PhilPhil Woollard wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 6:36 pmJust a quick up date, I have almost done with the bins. I'm waiting on some tiny parts from armortek to finish the bin latches which I think with a little work look pretty close to the original,I have also changed out the hinge hex bolts for my low profile threaded rivets and reduced the width of the hinges even further, more details in tomorrows post on how to do it.
Richard those fender braces between the bins you will have to manufacture along with all the bin brackets x4 for each bin.
Could I ask you where you got the piano hinges from I have searched high & low for a small size
Many thanks
Keith

Hi Keith, eBay but they did need cutting down a few mm as I struggled to get anything close.

Phil, I need your help.
I am confused, I see the radiator once on the right once on the left. But maybe I see it wrong. Which one did I send you? The handle with the spring must be on the outside. Thanks

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.
I have the one left hand radiator, and I use that one just to dress the open hatch, that radiator will live over the gue.
The castings look very good, what are the sizes of the engine casting lxwxd please?
