Video of 14th Army in Burma

Post by Chris Hall »

In the UK, the media are busy celebrating the 100th Birthday of 'Captain Tom', a Burma Veteran who, by walking around his garden, has raised nearly £30 MILLION for the National Health Service - a worthy cause, especially at this time.

The BBC ran an article about it this morning, which some clever soul videoed and put on Facebook. Here's a link - hope it works !

(See revised YouTube link below)

There's a shot of a Universal Carrier, a couple of 25pdrs and, of most interest to me, M3 Lee's without the "silly top turret" TM. I think one of them even had its side doors welded up or deleted, which is what I hope to do with my Lee.

Enjoy !

All the best, and stay well,

Chris

I suspect you have to be logged in to Facebook. I'll have a look around and see if it's on something more general, eg. YouTube.

Sorted ! It was a BBC clipshow cut from various Pathe newsreels. The lady who saw it just grabbed her mobile and filmed it, then she put it on a Special Interest Group on Facebook that you have to be a member of. She's now uploaded it to YouTube.

So it's not fantastic quality but, unless and until the BBC post it up themselves, here it is:

All the best, and stay well,
