Fibre glass would work but which ever medium you used it would sure be messy!

Good morning Phil.
Been adding some small details of the breech. The small bits and pieces which fit to the side and rear faces of the breech I am going to leave for you to do if required.
Just noticed in one of your photos that the back of the Armortek barrel is squarish. Also it's a bit crowded at the back of the barrel so don't really know how the breech is going to fit.

Can you advise when you get your email working so that I can send you the stl files of the breech and breech block.

Hi vince, I reckon 41mm diameter hole in the breech rear to accept my abs 40mm pipe I have in stock, the hole needs to be 20mm deep for a good bond, if possible a bit deeper if there's room.
Can you please send the hesh ammo container stl file again as I didn't get that for some reason?

Can you please remind me which one is it? Made so many that I lost track.

Regarding that 41mm hole. If I make it 20mm deep then it will enter the area where the breech block resides. As a solution, can I increase the depth of the breech body by 10mm?

Sounds like a plan, maybe step it so it's not noticeable?I That hesh bin has just come in Vince so I will print it out to check all is ok. The electrical boxes are cool.

Actually I just finished two versions of the breech to accept the 40mm tube you are going to use.

Looks very good vince, I have just received some more filament! I'm going to try abs for the breech.
Stephen would you have a drawing of the gun mount, or any drawing or photo from the top and or side perchance?

I use Formfutura TitanX ABS exclusively now, as there's next to no warp and I only need to increase the plot size by 0.5% to account for shrinkage.

Phil, I've sent you the gun cradle illustration last night.

That's it on drawings from Pam 33 for the L11 mounting and recoil systems.

By the way, the silver part on the top of the breech, with the large knurled knob on it is called the Stop, Running Back. It was fitted to prevent inadvertent running back of the gun, should the recuperator pressure fall. It was fitted when not live firing, so you could get away without it for a tank which is bombed up with Vince's projectiles.

Yes I saw that, to be more specific it's the mounting frame that carries the gun cradle. You can see part of it in this photo, then of course we are going to need the other side which carries the gunners sight. It's so crowded in there God knows how you guys functioned in such a tight technical environment!

Phil, what you call the mounting frame is the gun cradle. If you read the blurb I copied it should make the various components clear.

I will get my head around it all I'm sure Stephen as it's not that far off the German 120mm cannon assembly. This is the elongated version 50% of the way through the print sequence, it's 2220 hrs and I need to go to bed but I'm so engrossed in it all, it's been a long day as I was up at 3am! You only live once and I'm not going to miss any of it!

Vince the breech and breech block are now printed, the inside surfaces that the block slides in with take some work but that's only to be expected. I may even try to print the breech in the vertical axis, that takes 5 hrs!

That's looking great Phil. So you will be using the elongated breech. I think the best method to make the breech Block to fit in the breech is to work mostly on sanding down the breech block. Or else one can re-print a scaled down version of the breech block.
