There is a scratchbuilt UC in this film with the prototypical steering mechanism. It is a beautiful runner, which proves that the concept works well in the model world too. The builder wanted to see if replicating the mechanism would replicate its manner of movement too.
A little too much is about right...

This is a good introduction to the UC and shows how the steering worked, starting at about 04:00.
