There was a flamethrower version of a Universal carrier.

And I am thinking that with some creativity and one of the fancy new mini flamethrowers you can get on Amazon... it could be a very fun kit!

Of course, these are probably banned in the UK. But if not...

There were also versions with a 2 pdr, a .50, and a captured German version with rockets. So much you can do with a UC!

Cheers,

RPR

Great choices on both kits. I gotta say I love the suspense of two releases! The uni-carrier is a great choice and will be a neat model. The Stug also awesome re-issue! Great work again Armortek.

I think the universal carrier will prove to be a popular model. One thing I have noticed is that the kit will come with steel tracks is this correct and can we start to see them more often on new releases.

I put in an order as well. Just so many customizing possibilities. My first track....

BTW, there were a couple of these tested with Rolls-Royce 20/25 engines. They ran like gangbusters, but were too complex and expensive for production. But I just might have to make a one-off small hp static motor for this kit!

I gather this was the one that the hint 'getting the tracks right' was about. Rumor has it that the prototype has been around for a while!

Cheers,

RPR

I spoke to Kian earlier today and he said that the prototype was built about 12 months ago, getting the tracks right was the reason for not announcing the kit earlier. If I remember what he said correctly the prototype has steel tracks but production kits will have alloy ones, the reason for the switch to alloy was that the drilling of the steel track was too problematic with about 1 in every 12 links having a drill breakage.
Another very interesting bit of information concerned the drive system, this would be via a single 12 volt motor with differential and track breaking. Kian also said that if he could make it work he would like to add track warping as per the real vehicle.
Cannot wait to see how the final kit comes out.

Steve

I hope you meant track braking and not track breaking. One will lead to happy customers, the other not so much

Oops, maybe Kian needs to reconsider those steel tracks.
