Umm ebay looks good only problem is scale thickness may be to floppy, I will have to order different thicknesses and report back. It must hang right or it will not be convincing. 8)

The rest of the hull camo is now applied, the first coat of wash also applied, I'm just about ready to install the motion pack for a trial run of the oily bits.

You may be able to make out the first wash coat in this photo although it is very subtle.

My pleasure Brian. A question for Armortek, do we need to fit an isolation switch between the batteries and the power module, I am thinking not with the new power module switch and relay? I'm liking the new module system it should be popular! 8)

She lives, and she bites so be careful. This is a heavy powerful lump but we like that!

These new modules are really nice and a lot easier to install and set up than their predecessors. I have just loosely placed the power and sound module in the hull, along with the batteries to see where it's all going to go. I think the batteries will live in the centre of the hull directly under the turret but missing the turret turn motor ( which I shall install next as it protrudes down a fair way).

This Chieftain has every option plus a few of my own so it's going to be tight in there, my high pressure smoker is not small and I may try some more sophisticated speakers, that along with a drivers seat, controls and driver the front compartment is taken up. Then there's the half engine, gearbox, fuel tanks and radiators.

Setting up the sounds, follow the instructions to the letter, you may need no you will need to enter the set sequence more than once, I did this half a dozen times before it would function correctly. Just keep going through the process as many times as you like as you can't bugger it up. A tip , when your setting/learning the throttle inputs for the sound module, use the opposite direction input for the full throttle learning input. For some reason it works for me.

I'm going to use the two stick configuration as it's less problematic, and although I do like the one stick control, I feel it's more realistic using the left right stick set up, I think this preference stems from my target drone flying days when we were taught to imagine that we, as the pilot, we're actually sitting in the seat, some may disagree.

I'm so glad that I cut the T piece out, I am shuffling it all around right now trying to get it all to fit.

If you type in "Armortek Chieftain sound trial" to YouTube you can have a listen to a quick unedited video. I can't do a link from this device.

You wouldn't believe just how good my new amp and speakers sounds, it's deep and you can hear every sound that those engines are making, worth the effort if you are fussy about such things. It's not necessary to change the kit speakers as they are more than capable.

Cheers Phil. I have started on the turret as I need to check on the turret interior mechs protruding into the hull, and they do protrude into the hull a tad so careful planning is needed to get the clearance necessary. 8)

Nice fit of the parts although you will need to open up the lower bush seat a tad, this can then be pressed home nicely.

Don't forget the cable tie for the motor wires or the wires could break off at the brush mount over time. Lubricate the bearing surfaces as you go, address any tightness issues as this will affect the smooth operation of the mech which would then look pants.

That barrel is ridiculously long! Leave one half of the barrel link thread free from Locktite so you can remove part of the gun for transport.

That cylinder is the barrel counter weight which is a pain but can be mounted in a slightly different way if needed. The power file is needed to remove the turrets bulgy bits.

I do like that speaker box you've used behind the motors, you can pick them up for £20 S/hand on fleabay. 100w too.

I bet you can probably wind up the amp volume up to 11 now instead of the meager 7

Been sorting the high pressure smoker plumbing and new control circuit for the big fan, that's 60 watts of suck or blow, which ever way you want to do it. 8)
