Loving those fender lights nice addition can you recommend which lights you are using for all your lights and a good place to purchase them?
As ever in awe of this build

Hi Daniel, ebay, warm white 12v pre wired with mounts, (you may need a voltage converter dc/dc 12/24v step down module also found on ebay, very cheap. Your motion pack may have a 12v outlet) you chose the physical size, say 3 ,5 or 10mm dia . 8)

I've cut the T piece out, more on that later. Oh and nothing moved absolutely nothing! 8)

The T piece continued. After the mid fixings were accurately spotted through, the T piece was unbolted and the cuts made using a 2mm angle grinder disc, leaving enough meat to create a strong joint.
Please note, I wouldn't recommend running the vehicle with the T piece support removed but when tightly nipped up I don't foresee any problems what so ever 8)
Now I'm thinking about the fuel tanks that fill the panniers voids down both sides, and the exhaust box inner louver panel.

There's always a compromise and this job is no exception, it requires the mid deck protrusions to do just that but very necessary, a total of 8 m3,s needed to hold this section tight.( Reduced heads).

The vertical reduced head fixings will be lowered into the angled brace so they are not so prominent, the gap between the brace and the T piece will be filled and a weld bead added.

A quick check with the turret in place and all is well with plenty of clearance taking into consideration the turret bustle underside louver vents.

A little shaping required at this end. Everything lines up beautifully when offered up, showing that the hull, hull sides and everything inbetween is very secure indeed.

Lots done, I think I'm now ready to paint the hull so I have started on the colour that I want to show through the top coats, the weathering coat of red lead I will also use mat black but that's for tomorrow.
More on all this paint and today's T piece work in a bit. 8)

As I said lots done, I think I'm ready to start the hull painting process, this needs doing now as she is getting very heavy indeed. I can then get the rubber ware installed. 8)
I will post pics of the T piece and the drivers hatch work tomorrow.

God this thing is big! I'm tempted to use a bigger spray gun but the air brush gives a nice finish.

Thanks Simon, its an awful lot of work but a very pleasurable steep learning curve with a new kit relase. 8)

Phil, well done, looking good and it’s great that you chose to sort out the thickness of the driver’s hatch. I’m going to sound like a broken record though and just say that a rust finish on the tracks looks anything but authentic for a Chieftain in service. Now I’ll shut up because I recognise that for many tank modelers simulating rust is in the moment as the woke would say. Each to his own.
