Help with hatch

Can someone tell me what other detail there is on the inside of the Sherman hatch . I have the periscope on one side and a handle on the other side , but I can't find any photos of any locking devises, was there a head pad on the inside . This is the last bit of info that i need to finish my turret off.. Dale

Hi Dale.

These are pics from the M4A2 which was at Tankfest this year:

Hatch inner surface seen through pistol port.

Hatch outer surface.

These are from the Muckleburgh Sherman - showing the "ring-pulls" to release the catches

I don't know the function of the device on the rim - anyone know

Hope these help - I'll have a look for any other Sherman photos I have but most seem to be closed down and ready for action.

Thanks Adrian ... These are the photos I was after . It's funny with the sherman hatch , you could not lock yourself in . The ring pull is one thing I was after as well ... This is how they released the hatck hold back clip . Dale
